Don’t let Colin Jost’s clean-cut persona fool you—he’s got a mischievous side.
Although the Saturday Night Live star’s wife, Scarlett Johansson, sang his praises in a recent interview, the Black Widow actress said Colin does make risky decisions here and there.
“He’s got his naughty side,” the 40-year-old teased during an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark Nov. 26. “That’s why he keeps it interesting.”
Cohost Mark Consuelos proceeded to ask about Colin’s “boat”—the Staten Island ferryboat he purchased with former SNL costar Pete Davidson—to which Scarlett replied, “That’s the naughty part I was talking about.”
Colin, 42, and Pete, 31, were among a group of investors who purchased the decommissioned boat for $280,100 at an auction in 2022, according to the New York Times. At the time, Paul Italia, who was among the investors, told the outlet the group intended to turn the boat into “an arts and entertainment venue”—but Scarlett revealed there hasn’t been much progress on the project thus far.
“It is, um, yup, still decommissioned,” she said jokingly. “I was like, ‘OK, what’s happening with this boat? You’ve got to start paying for its own docking fees.’”
Scarlett—who shares son Cosmo, 3, with Colin as well as daughter Rose, 10, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac—did note that the ferry had been used to host the Tommy Hilfiger runway show at New York Fashion Week in September, and while she praised the event as a “huge success” in the end, she admitted to being skeptical at first.
“I was like, ‘Fashion people are coming on the Staten Island Ferry?’” she recalled. “‘What’s happening with the bathrooms? Surely you renovated the bathrooms.’ And he was like, ‘No.’”
Ultimately, though, Colin seemed pretty pleased with the partnership.
“It’s one of the few days where I’ve been on the boat,” he told the Associated Press at the time, “and been like, ‘Oh, say, this is nice. This is how it can work.’”
