Jiare Schneider—an aspiring TikToker who went missing Nov. 15—was found dead Nov. 26 in the woods near his Georgia home, the Clayton County Police Department confirmed to multiple outlets. He was 31.
Family friend Germequa Bell said Schneider’s body was discovered when his loved ones searched around the wooded area since it had not yet been gone through due to ongoing construction.
“We went to the woods,” she told FOX 5 Atlanta Nov. 26, “and there he was. We knew when he disappeared that something was up.”
After discovering Schneider’s body, the group called the police. Authorities told FOX 5 that Schneider’s body was located around 1 p.m. inside a Toyota 4Runner that family members said he had borrowed from a friend.
Schneider’s family later told authorities he had planned to take the car for a night out at Rumors Night Club Nov. 15 before he went missing. Bell said Schnieder's loved ones believe he had visited a nearby “content house”—a term commonly used to describe a location where social media creators work or live together—25 minutes away from where his body was found.
"We were searching more toward around that content house he was last seen at,” she added to FOX 5. “We never got to come this way because it was blocked off."
Clayton County Police Department spokesperson Lt. Ricky Porter told the outlet that the vehicle was found “deep” in the woods, indicating that “there was a fast speed approaching the intersection.”
Police said an investigation into Schneider’s death is ongoing.
Schneider leaves behind a young son who suffers from DiGeorge syndrome, a disorder that occurs when a piece of the 22nd chromosome is missing, according to Bell. She said he will be remembered as a loving father, friend and brother.
