Camila Cabello is hyping up her girl Normani.

While the former Fifth Harmony members have been candid about the difficulties they faced in their relationship after Camila left the girl group in 2016, the "Havana" singer was delighted to share that she and Normani, 28, have developed a new understanding after running into each other at Paris Fashion Week in September.

"I remember times when we'd just be laughing so hard," Camila told Nylon in an interview published Dec. 2. "With space, we can go back and tap into that."

The 27-year-old explained that seeing the "Motivation" singer in person made her realize that Normani wasn't a coworker or competitor, but another grown woman who was working hard to accomplish her own dreams.

"The past couple of times I've seen her, I say something and she laughs really hard," Camila added. "It doesn't feel like we're strangers. We're getting back to the times when we really close."

And as the "Shameless" singer noted, a lot of this new understanding stems from looking back on her time with Fifth Harmony—which also included Ally BrookeDinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui—through a more compassionate lens, especially when it comes to how she was dealing with her anxiety at the time.

"I don't know if I was struggling more than a normal teenager should," Camila said, "because it's hard to say what's normal, whether you're famous or not. My barometer wasn't functional. It was more than a person should bear [in that situation]."

Camila is also well aware that she didn't have a lot of "conflict resolution skills" needed to deal with issues that arose in the girl group.

"How do you deal with being left out? How do you deal with jealousy?" she continued. "How do you deal with these things without hurting yourself or other people?"

But luckily, she and her former bandmatesthe group disbanded for good in 2018have found their groove over the years and are now in a much more solid place.

"We have been supportive of each other through like DMs and stuff," Camila told Reuters in 2022. "I'm in a really good place with them."
