Pregnant Brittany Mahomes Details Workout Routine After Back Injury

With a third baby on the way, Brittany has recently detailed the lessons she learned about adapting her fitness routine to contribute to a smooth recovery after giving birth, especially with a back injury to accommodate.   

“Pelvic floor therapy and really focus on your breathing techniques or you will get injured,” the former professional soccer player explained on an August episode of the Whoop podcast. “I obviously worked out my whole life so I had kids and then I’m like, ‘Oh I’ll just keep working out how I’ve always worked out, I’m fine.’ Well, I hurt my back.”

Luckily, Brittany discovered low-impact exercises and found success in making some adjustments to her workout regimen.

“I went to therapy, went to chiropractor, went and got X-Rays,” she continued. “In the end, a lot of people talk about pelvic floor therapy and strengthening your pelvic floor after you have kids and how important that is. So obviously, I started to do more of that because I was injured and that’s kind of what my therapy was.” 

After realizing the importance of a healthy pelvic floor as a soon-to-be mother of three, Brittany made sure to use her experiences to help fans learn from her mistakes.

"Just your daily reminder: Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor. Seriously," she wrote over an Instagram Stories selfie in May. "From: A girl with a fractured back."

And if her killer routines weren’t proof enough that Brittany is thriving despite her injury, take it from the Kansas City Current co-owner herself.  

“I'm living my best life,” she told E! News in May. “My back is no longer broken, so that's good.”
