The critics have spoken—Well, almost.
The 2025 Critics Choice Awards are celebrating their milestone 30th anniversary, meaning this year's ceremony is going to be even more meaningful than in recent years past.
The annual telecast—which will take place Friday, Feb. 7, in Los Angeles after being delayed by the devastating wildfires that ravaged many parts of the county last month—brings together television and film's biggest stars to honor the most impressive achievements on the big and small screens over the past 12 months, all voted on by members of The American-Canadian Critics Choice Association. (So, you know they know what they're talking about.)
Leading the 2025 film nominees are Wicked and Conclave, which each nabbed 11 noms, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Acting Ensemble. Dune: Part Two and Emilia Pérez followed the frontrunners closely with 10 nominations each, while talked-about titles like A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Nickel Boys, Sing Sing and The Substance are also represented among the 20+ categories.
As for TV, Shogun continues to dominate this award season, leading the pack with six nominations, including Best Drama Series, Anna Sawai’s Best Actress in a Drama Series and Moeka Hoshi’s Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. (Both stars just won Golden Globes for their performances, meaning their chances of nabbing some Critics Choice hardware just got even better.)
However, don't count out fan and critic favorites like Only Murders in the Building, The Diplomat, The Penguin, Abbott Elementary, What We Do in the Shadows, Hacks and English Teacher in the top television categories.
