Josh Hall just couldn't hack it as Christina Haack's third husband.
In fact, Christina revealed how her ex's jealously of her first spouse Tarek El Moussa created tensions in their relationship prior to their 2024 breakup.
During the premiere of her and Tarek's new home renovation reality competition series The Flip Off, the Christina on the Coast star broke down in tears while breaking the news of her divorce to Tarek—and shared new insight into what caused their contentious split.
"You make him very insecure," Christina—who shares children Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with Tarek, as well as son Hudson, 5, with second ex-husband Ant Anstead—told her ex during the Jan. 29 episode. "Every time we would barely joke at soccer or if I laughed at you, he would not speak to me for two or three days. I would get silent treatment."
Josh's anger even turned into name-calling.
As Christina recounted, "He doesn’t like me. He calls me cocky. He thinks I’m arrogant, when we both know I’m not cocky or arrogant and I just do work."
The 41-year-old old's heartbreaking confession was a surprise to Tarek, who then offered her kind words of support in her time of need.
"You’re not any other those things," the 43-year-old sweetly reassured her. "He’s projecting. You’re a great mother, a great daughter. You are a great human."
At another point during the episode, Christina shared even more insight into how Josh's insecurities became a problem in their relationship before they officially called things off last summer after two years of marriage.
"When I met Josh, my name was still Christina El Moussa on everything," she reflected in a confessional. "Josh did not like that and he was all about me becoming a Hall."
And during a very uncomfortable car ride that teased cracks in their union, the tense dynamics between Josh, Christina, Tarek and Tarek's wife Heather Rae El Moussa were on full display when he tried to rally Christina's competitive spirit.
"This is a competition, you gotta pull out all the stops," the 44-year-old reminded the interior designer. "Whatever it takes to win, I'll do it. Halls rule. You're supposed to say it with me or repeat it or something that shows that you're with me. Remember, you're a Hall now. Don't get confused in this competition what your name is."
Christina's response?
"He's been a bit moody lately," she noted in a confessional. "Josh knows that Tarek and I have a history and I'm sure some of it is the stress of the competition."
The awkward exchange ended with Josh declaring, "My wife's pissing me off already."

In April 2022, fans learned that Christina and Josh privately tied the knot. They then celebrated their union with a wedding in Hawaii that September.
"Shared vows in front of family and our close friends," Christina wrote on Instagram Sept. 4. "Everything in life has led me to where I am right now, which is exactly where I want to be. My dream man on the dreamiest island. Maui holds a special place in my heart. What an amazing night filled with love."
It would later be revealed that the two actually wed in October 2021.

The real estate agent celebrated the HGTV star's birthday with a sweet tribute.
"Happy 40th Birthday to my absolute stunner of a wife!" he wrote on Instagram. "This woman has accomplished so much, inspired so many and continues to impress me daily. I can’t say enough about what an absolute force she is and what she is capable of. Christina is about to make her 40’s the best decade of her life and looking better than ever while doing it!I’m a lucky man and thank my lucky stars that she chose me to take this ride with her that is now our life.
