New York Fashion Week has reared its stylish head once again.
Kicking off Feb. 6, this year’s fashionable festivities come right off the heels of Paris Fashion Week, where celebs like Tyla, Kylie Jenner and Dua Lipa stunned as they attended some of the week’s most anticipated Spring-Summer 2025 runway shows.
But while they are just a few of the stars who have taken 2025 fashion week by storm, turning back the clock 20 years to 2005, there were a select few It-girls who ruled the runways, and of course kept the fashion world buzzing.
Indeed, NYFW has always been about ruffling a few feathers. Like when Kate Moss and then-boyfriend Pete Doherty shared a passionate kiss at the launch party for Another Magazine. While the model wore an oversized leather jacket, The Libertines co-frontman looked très chic in a black suit and white button-down shirt.
Of course, as Pete later recalled, those kinds of public displays were on brand for the duo, who called it quits in 2007.
“We were attracted to each other,” he wrote in his 2022 book A Likely Lad, “I really loved her, and I knew she loved me – there was just all this messiness in between us, with all her chaos and my chaos.”
But they weren’t the only now-former couple to put their love—for fashion and one another—on display. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, also shared a kiss, during an outing at the Roseland in NYC.
Meanwhile, Lenny Kravitz had then-teen daughter Zoë Kravitz—whom he shares with Lisa Bonet—by his side as they saw the No Doubt frontwoman’s Lamb By Gwen Stefani showcase.
And who could forget when Beyoncé owned the runway in a bedazzled black dress at the "Fashion for Relief" fashion show that fundraised to support Hurricane Katrina victims.
The “Cuff It” singer strutted her stuff for a good cause in a mid-length layered gown, bouncy bronde hair and bling on her ears, heels and waistline.
While we certainly can't picture Queen Bey wearing this get-up today, all bets were off during this era of layers.
