Jessica Alba is focusing on a good cause.
Three weeks after news broke that the Sin City star and her husband Cash Warren had broken up after 16 years of marriage, she attended her first public engagement Jan. 30.
For the FireAid benefit concert at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.—which raised money to rebuild communities devastated by the Los Angeles wildfires—Jessica arrived in wide-legged, high-waisted jeans and a black top under a long black coat.
As she posed on the red carpet of the star-studded event—which also focused on raising funds for efforts to prevent future fire disasters in the area, as well as celebrated the first responders who’ve risked their lives amid the natural disasters—one thing that was missing from her look was her wedding band.
Following the news about her and Cash’s split, the 43-year-old shared insight into their decision to end their relationship.
“I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” she wrote on Instagram earlier this month. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Jessica—who shares kids Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7, with Cash, 46—emphasized that they will “forever be family.”
“We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other,” she continued. “Our children remain our highest priority.”
Since announcing the major life update, the Fantastic Four actress has been focusing on her loved ones. For instance, she and Honor had a sweet mother-daughter vacation in New York City earlier this month.
“Moments in #NYC w my big baby girl,” Jessica gushed on Instagram. “Love 1 on 1 with my angel, Honor.”
As for what they did in the Big Apple?
Along with having “all the yummy eats,” she and her eldest also attended a performance of Cole Escola’s Broadway show Oh, Mary!
Jessica added, “I was blown away, beginning to end belly laughs - it was such a good time!”
