Watch: Travis Kelce Reacts to Donald Trump Attending Super Bowl After Taylor Swift Remarks

There appears to be no bad blood between Travis Kelce and Donald Trump—despite the president's declared hatred of the NFL star's girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end responded to the Secret Service's Feb. 4 announcement that the U.S. leader—who declared he "hates" the Grammy winner after she endorsed Kamala Harris in the election—would be attending the 2025 Super Bowl Feb. 9 in New Orleans.

"That's awesome," Kelce told reporters Feb. 5. "It's a great honor."

The three-time Super Bowl champ continued, "I think no matter who the president is, I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life, and having the president there, it's the best country in the world, so it'd be pretty cool."

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also weighed in on Trump's plans, saying at the team's Feb. 5 press conference, "It's always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president."

Donald Trump Declares "I Hate Taylor Swift" After She Endorses Kamala Harris

The recent comments from the two Chiefs players, whose team will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX, come almost five months after Taylor shared her endorsement of Harris.

"I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them," the "Blank Space" singer wrote on Instagram last September. "I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos."

Swift also addressed AI images of herself "falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run," saying that it "conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation."

Days later, the Republican leader said on his Truth Social account, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"

Trump also went on to compare the singer to Brittany Mahomes. "Well I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better," he said on Fox News Sept. 11. "If you want to know the truth. She's a big Trump fan."

He continued, "I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. You couldn't possibly endorse [JoeBiden. But she's a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she'll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace."

The singer has not publicly responded to Trump's remarks.

And Trump won’t be the only one in a suite this year, as Swift is also expected to attend the Super Bowl. It will mark the second time she will have cheered on her boyfriend at the big game, which the Chiefs have won two years in row.

The vocalist has attended most of their games since she and Kelce began dating in summer 2023 and appears to have helped inspire him with her own career successes.

“I better hold up my end of the bargain, right?” Kelce told reporters during the Super Bowl’s opening night conference on Feb. 4. “If she's out here being the superstar she is, never taking no for an answer, and always working her tail off, you know, I better match that energy, for sure.”
