The verdict is in for A$AP Rocky's shooting trial.
The "ASAP Forever" rapper was found not guilty on two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm stemming from an argument with childhood friend and bandmate Terell Ephron—also known as A$AP Relli—three years ago.
Ephron accused Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) of firing a gun at him on Nov. 6, 2021 during a public dispute on a Hollywood sidewalk. He alleged his hand was grazed by a bullet during the incident.
However, Rocky's defense team argued the 36-year-old pulled out a prop weapon that only shot blanks. They alleged Ephron concocted the story of being injured by an actual firearm in an attempt to extort money from Rocky.
Rocky was arrested in 2022 in connection to the case, but was shortly released on $550,000 bail.
The "LSD" emcee—who plead not guilty to his charges—was offered a plea deal prior to his three-week trial at the Los Angeles Superior Court. He turned it down, with his attorney Joe Tacopina saying that his client was "not interested because he is actually innocent."
"The terms were 180 days in jail, three years' probation," Tacopina told ABC News in January, "and a few other minor conditions on a plea to an assault with a gun charge."
During his legal proceeding, Rocky was supported by Rihanna, who he's been dating since 2019. The "Umbrella" singer appeared in the courtroom gallery several times throughout trial, bringing their sons RZA Athelston, 2, and Riot Rose, 17 months, to closing arguments on Feb. 13.
While Rihanna has not publicly spoken about Rocky's case, she has been open about their close bond as a family.
"They bring purpose to every aspect of my life," she told E! News last April, adding that she'll always prioritize Rocky and their kids. "Everything has to be intentional, and everything has to be worth it—especially when it takes me away from them."
