Dani Bowman doesn't regret calling things off with Adan Correa.

After the Love on the Spectrum stars broke up in season three due to their issues with intimacy and conflicting beliefs on pre-marital sex, Dani is standing by her decision.

"I actually waited for Adan to be ready for over a year and I would've kept waiting if I felt like there was still hope," she explained in an April 17 TikTok video. "As someone on the autism spectrum, I've learned to be direct about what matters to me."

The 30-year-old ended things with Adan after 18 months of dating when he confirmed that he was not willing to have sex until after marriage.

"For me, intimacy doesn't require a wedding ring," she explained in her video. "It requires love, trust and honesty. I know that not everyone agrees and that's OK. We're allowed to have different values."

She also admitted that she "missed" some cues when Adan spoke about his values in past conversations.

"That's on me," Dani—who has since begun dating a detective named Henry—continued. "I take responsibility for that. Later in our conversation, when he said intimacy was OK with consent and protection, I truly thought we were on the same page."

For Adan's part, he explained during their emotional breakup that he had given the idea some thought but ultimately wasn't onboard.

Following their split in season three, Adan explained how his autism diagnosis shaped his perspective on the topic.

"We have been ridiculed and made fun of, we don't have many friends, and we have gotten picked on and beaten up," he told Tudum in an interview published April 10. "For me, believing in God has been my strength, and my religious beliefs are what help me make sense of the pain that I've experienced in my life. My values have been shaped by my life and life experience."

And while he didn't end up finding lasting love, he's learned some important lessons along the way.

"I have learned that love is magical and beautiful," he continued. "I am confident that I will meet other girls that I can date and build a strong and honest relationship with. I do want to find love again. It happened once, it will happen again."

Meanwhile, Dani is basking in her new romance.

"Like a perfectly timed plot twist in one of my own animated stories, someone completely unexpected walked into my life," she gushed to the outlet. "For the first time in my life, I'm with someone who truly sees me. Not just as an animator, not just as an advocate; not just as someone on the spectrum, but as Dani. And that? That's the best feeling in the world."
