This family bond is truly bella.
Bella Hadid couldn't help but to gush over sister Gigi Hadid, as well as 4-year-old niece Khai, while celebrating the Next in Fashion host's 30th birthday on April 23, sharing photos of the trio throughout the years.
"You are the most funny, cool, fun, creative, artistic, loving, thoughtful human/big sis," the 28-year-old wrote on Instagram, "and to watch you be the best, most fun, bad ass mama to our Khaiba is the greatest gift to me as a sister."
Calling Khai—who Gigi shares with ex Zayn Malik—her "newest best friend," Bella continued of her older sibling, "You have a heart of gold, constantly being thoughtful of others, but always staying true to yourself. You have taught me so much of how to be myself in a world of people telling us all who we are supposed to be. And that’s a gift I cherish from you beyond anything."
One throwback photo showed Bella hugging her Gigi when she was still pregnant with Khai, while all three were pictured hitting the beach with family matriarch Yolanda Hadid in another snap.
In a third photo, Bella and Gigi snuggled with Khai, though the tiny tot's face was obscured by an angel emoji.
And there's a reason for that. As Gigi noted in 2021, she and her family will "never intentionally" show Khai's face on social media.
"Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age," the model wrote on Instagram Stories at the time, "and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen."
Since then, Gigi has continued to post photos of Khai where her daughter's face is turned away from the camera or hidden by an object. It's a choice that many fans have applauded, including one who commented under one of Gigi's Instagram posts earlier this month, "Even without showing her face, we can feel how loved and special Khai is."
Touched by the sentiment, Gigi replied, "This means a lot."
