Machine Gun Kelly has a best friend in his mini-me.
The 35-year-old—who welcomed a child in March with ex-fiancée Megan Fox—recently celebrated his birthday alongside his 15-year-old daughter Casie Colson Baker and the pair rocked out for the big day.
In an April 30 Instagram post, MGK (real name Colson Baker) and Casie danced behind a turntable while playing Chris Brown’s remix of Leon Thomas’ song “MUTT.” The rapper paired the sweet video of the bonding moment with a caption that read, “my daughter is a viiiiibe.”
And while the “my ex’s best friend” rapper has kept details of his and Megan’s newest child mostly private, he has taken a different approach when it comes to his relationship with Casie, who he shares with ex Emma Cannon.
“I didn’t really hide who I was to her,” MGK said on a July 2024 episode of the Bad Friends podcast. “She’s very comfortable in her own skin and a very strong independent woman who is like, ‘I come from a father who gives me flowers and tells me how beautiful I am, is very open about his lifestyle to where that doesn’t impress me. I need someone who is gonna court me.’”
As for what prompted him to build an open and honest relationship with Casie? He said he’d rather have her learn about his rocky past from the source.
“She has the internet, too, and she started seeing me in ways that I'm like, ‘Oh, I'm not proud of that as a father,’” MGK continued. “It didn't hit until she was able to kind of admit that she was disappointed in me and I was as a father who views her as my best friend and probably the only person I really cared to impress. I wasn't proud of a lot of the ways I was representing myself.”
He continued, “It's also my job as one of the leading voices of a generation who also can relate to being misjudged by things they did when they were younger. As I grow up, I'll continue to try and take my job as a f--k up who is no longer that.”
