No need for a shot of espresso when Sabrina Carpenter hits the red carpet.
The Grammy winner provided an organic jolt of energy to the 2025 Met Gala in burgundy tuxedo-inspired bodysuit as her ode to the evening's dress code, "Tailored for You." (See all the 2025 Met Gala red carpet fashion.)
While her custom Louis Vuitton look did not include pants, it did feature a corset bodice and dramatic long train. She completed her ringleader-esque ensemble with Chopard jewelry.
A variety of the outfits at the May 5 event paid homage to the year's theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." Perennial Met Gala host Anna Wintour was joined on the board this year by co-chairs Colman Domingo, Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams, as well as honorary chair LeBron James, a last-minute scratch from the all-star lineup of attendees due to a knee injury.
But this was Carpenter's third trip in four years to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May.
Her blond hair flowing, she made her Met Gala debut in 2022 decked out in a metallic sequin-encrusted bra top and floor-length skirt by Julien Dossena at Paco Rabanne —in keeping with the "Gilded Glamor" dress code—with accessories to match.
"This is my first time, so I'm peeing myself," Carpenter quipped to Vogue correspondent Emma Chamberlain on the carpet. "I'm trying to be observant and take everything in."
The 25-year-old returned in 2024 for the achingly romantic "Garden of Time"-coded event, in a fitted black strapless Oscar de la Renta ballgown with a voluminous powder-blue and white hombre skirt. At the time she was accompanied by then-boyfriend Barry Keoghan.
This year, Carpenter got the party started early: She attended the Moda Operandi pre-Met Gala cocktail party May 3 at The Twenty-Two Hotel in New York, wearing a sparkling aqua tank dress that had a sky-high slit and gathered fabric around the hips cinched with a massive golden safety pin (did we mention the look was by Versace?), and she dropped in on Quinta Brunson's Saturday Night Live monologue.
“You were talking about being short,” the Short 'n' Sweet artist noted, "so I thought I’d stop by."
Hence the towering platform heels Carpenter often sports, including her Met Gala footwear. See all the fashion choices the stars made from head to toe at the 2025 Met Gala:
