Ozzy Osbourne's official cause of death has been revealed after the rock legend's family announced that he passed away on July 22 at age 76.

More information has come to light about Ozzy Osbourne's death. 

Two weeks after the Black Sabbath rocker passed away at age 76, The New York Times confirmed that his official cause of death was a heart attack, citing a death certificate filed by his daughter Aimee Osbourne at a registry in London, as well as coronary artery disease. 

According to the outlet, the certificate says Osbourne died of “(a) Out of hospital cardiac arrest (b) Acute myocardial infarction (c) Coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction (Joint Causes).” 

Ozzy’s family announced in a statement that the rock legend had died on the morning of July 22.

"He was with his family and surrounded by love," his family—including wife Sharon Osbourne as well as kids Kelly OsbourneJack Osbourne, and Louis Osbourne—said in a statement shared to E! News at the time. "We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” 

Just days before the update, Ozzy's daughter Kelly slammed rumors that her dad's health was rapidly declining and that he and her mom Sharon had made a suicide pact.

"He's not dying," she said on her Instagram Stories July 11. "Yes, he has Parkinson's, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he's not dying. What is wrong with you?"

In addition to Parkinson's disease, Ozzy—whose real name is John Michael Osbourne—had been battling a series of health issues over the years, but the musician was able to take the stage with his band in Birmingham, England, just weeks before his passing.   

In fact, Sharon shared how enthusiastic the rocker was about returning to the mic once again for his July 5 performance with Black Sabbath bandmates Tony IommiBill Ward and Geezer Butler.

“He's so excited about this," she told the BBC in February, "about being with the guys again and all his friends. It's exciting for everyone.”

Following his passing, several friends and collaborators of Ozzy—who, in addition to making waves in heavy metal, had found fame with his family as the star of the hit MTV reality TV series The Osbournes from 2002 to 2005—paid tribute to his impact on the music and entertainment industry.

“He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods,” Elton John wrote on Instagram July 22. “He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.”

Meanwhile, Bret Michaels described the singer as "one of the greatest rock legends to ever live."

"To my friend @sharonosbourne and the entire Osbourne family, sending my deepest condolences," the Poison frontman added. "Ozzy, may you forever rest in peace and thank you for rocking our world.”
