Louis Tomlinson is putting faith in his future with Zara McDermott.
Six months after the One Direction singer and Love Island alum first sparked romance rumors in March, they went Instagram official on Zara’s page.
Zara, 28, shared a selfie of the couple kissing alongside a heart emoji August 4, with Louis sweetly replying in the comments, “I love you x.”
The couple have made more subtle declarations of their relationship before. In fact, just last month, Louis took to social media to address longstanding rumors about his relationship with the 28-year-old.
“The last few months have made it impossible to be on here,” Louis, 33, wrote in a July 14 post on X. “All the conspiracy chat about my relationship, my son or even stretching sometimes to opinions on my Mum. It’s just too much and too hurtful for me to see!”
While Louis has dated Eleanor Calder, Danielle Campbell and Briana Jungwirth, the latter with whom he shares his 10-year-old son Freddie, over the years, he has constantly had to thwart conspiracy theories concerning his relationships and sexuality.
Indeed, many of Louis’ own fans have continued to falsely allege that he is romantically involved with his ex-bandmate Harry Styles since the band’s 2010 inception.
“What I realized a few years ago is that there is nothing I can say,” Louis told Brazilian outlet g1 of the rumors last year. “There is nothing I can do to stop those who believe in this conspiracy. They are so connected to what they believe that they will not see the truth for what it really is.”
And while Louis has pushed back when the rumors go too far, he has made peace with the fact that some of his fans will continue to believe what they want. As he put it, “Nothing I can say to stop people from inventing what they want to invent. So, so be it.”
The Love Island alum, for her part, has been sharing sneaky photos of Louis on her Instagram for months. Back in April, the reality star—who was previously linked to British television personality Sam Thompson—shared a photo of two breakfast plates to her Instagram Story with Louis’ signature tattoo sleeve peeking into the frame and attended Glastonbury alongside the “Miss You” singer in June.
