Time is flying for Trista Sutter.
The Bachelorette’s very first leading woman shared a look at her and husband Ryan Sutter’s kids’ first day of school, with their son Maxwell, 18, and daughter Blakesley, 16, entering their last and penultimate years of high school.
As Trista noted in the caption of her August 13 post, “It just goes too fast.”
The accompanying video montage featured a look back at Maxwell and Blakesley’s first days of school from over the years, set to Luke Bryan’s “Fast.”
“Junior year for Blakesley Grace and the last first day for our senior (what?!!!), Maxwell Alston,” Trista continued. “I love you both to the moon and back to the moon and back to the moon and back to infinity and beyond and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for you both.”
However, she did add, “I’m putting in a request for time to slow down.”
And much like Trista, many of her followers who have been following her journey from the very beginning likewise couldn’t get over how long it’s been.
“Oh my goodness..Been following since these two were babies,” one user wrote. “Can't believe time has passed so quickly.. They were precious then and precious now as they are.”
Another quipped, referencing Trista’s season of The Bachelorette back in 2003, “I bet these kids are glad you pick [sic] Ryan!”
The update on their kids comes over a year after Trista and Ryan seemed to hit a bump on their journey together, after Ryan had shared some cryptic post about missing his wife. Within two weeks, however, Trista assured fans the pair were back on track.
"Geez people. Can't a girl have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace around here?!" she wrote on Instagram in May 2024, alongside a photo of herself, Ryan and their children standing on a beach. "In all seriousness, for those concerned, I'm safe and sound, happy and healthy, in love and grateful. For those who'd rather focus on being critical and searching way too hard for darkness, good luck with that."
The 51-year-old went on to explain, "An opportunity for perspective and personal growth presented itself and with the unconditional support of my family and friends, I chose myself and betterment, knowing that my stay-at-home-mom job and my kids end-of-the-school-year needs were in the best, most capable hands."
Ryan, too, later affirmed he and his wife were better than ever.
"Sometimes we land in just the right spot," he wrote on social media May 29. "Sometimes there are moments, moments like this one, in which we get a glimpse of just how beautiful life can be—how beautiful it is when we take time to appreciate the places and the people in them. To appreciate what and who we love most."
