These singles are ready to step into their pods.
With Love Is Blind season nine just three weeks away, the Netflix dating series is putting a spotlight on the 32 contestants from Denver, Colorado looking—without truly looking—for love.
Kaylen, 29, is coming into the reality show—which premieres with the first six episodes on Oct. 1—with a grounded perspective about what she's looking for in her partner.
"In previous relationships, I was told, 'You're doing too much,'" the account executive explained in the Sept. 10 introduction. "That's something I'm not willing to sacrifice is changing who I am."
Meanwhile, Mike, 38, hopes his prospective partner will be happy to "be around other people that are also excited to live life to the fullest."
Something else he's not willing to sacrifice? The real estate investor emphasized, "I also love dried mangos so that I wouldn't give those up either."
For other contestants, like Madison, 28, joining the Love is Blind cast has a deeper meaning.
"Most people wouldn't know that I have a blinding eye condition," the UX/ UI designer revealed. "There's a good chance that I will go blind at some point in my life. This experiment is more than just an experiment for me because it simulates what my life could be.”
While fans get a chance to learn why the contestants are taking their shot at love, some cast members shared a glimpse into parts of who they are. For instance, Edmond, 29, didn't hold back when he revealed, "I eat my boogers. Might be a little too much, but I do eat them."
And neither did Jordan, 30, who admitted that he starts his day with a very peculiar meal.
"My go-to breakfast is 8 ounces of cooked chicken breast and 32 oz. of ounces put in a blender with some lemonade Mio [water enhancer]," the service manager chose to tell viewers. "I know it's gross, but I'm just trying to get my protein in."
All in all, these contestants have proven that they're ready to enter these pods. As 31-year-old Annie, a hair salon owner, put it, "Why wouldn't I meet my future husband on the other side of the wall?"
Episodes one through six premiere on Netflix on Oct. 1, followed by episodes seven to nine on Oct. 8, episodes 10 and 11 on Oct. 15 and the season finale on Oct. 22.
