Watch: The Fate of Netflix's 'The Hunting Wives' Revealed After Season One

Camouflage is in for another season.

After all, Hunting Wives—the Lionsgate series that became a smash hit on Netflix this summer—has officially been renewed by the streamer as an original for season two, multiple outlets reported Sept. 12.

In a statement obtained by Variety, the second season of the series “will release exclusively as a Netflix branded series in nearly all countries Netflix is available, with the original cast set to reprise their roles.”

E! News has reached out to Netflix regarding the renewal news but has not yet heard back.

The upcoming season will follow the same format as the first installment, producing eight episodes and building upon the world of Mapleton, Texas transplant Sophie (Brittany Snow) as she navigates the town’s conservative social scene led by Margo (Malin Åkerman).

Fans will be more than relieved to hear the renewal news, considering Hunting Wives’ season one finale ended with Sophie discovering it was actually Margo who killed Abby Jackson (Madison Wolfe), the driving plot of the season. Plus, in the episode’s final moments, Sophie kills Margo’s brother Kyle (Michael Aaron Milligan) in a hit and run—and Margo knows.

And while the fate of Hunting Wives had been up in the air for several months, Brittany and Malin had already alluded to more episodes to come earlier this month.

Listen, we'll put it this way,” Malin exclusively told E! News at the Video Music Awards Sept. 7. “We've heard a lot of positive feedback from the powers that be.”

Brittany, for her part, emphasized how exciting it was for the cast—which also included Chrissy Metz and Dermot Mulroney—when the Netflix audience took to the May Cobb novel adaptation after it hit the streamer in July.

“You never really know when things are going to hit or not,” the Pitch Perfect alum explained. “And with something like this, it was so polarizing because people either love it or hate it.”

For the 27 Dresses alum, the success of the series thus far has been a dream come true.

"All of a sudden, when it kind of comes true, you go, ‘Wow, people are actually watching our show,’” she explained at the time. “It's very exciting and very exhilarating.”
