Olivia Plath is saying goodbye to Plathville once and for all.
The TLC star—who broke up with Ethan Plath in 2023 following five years of marriage—confirmed her departure from the long-running series, sharing that the season seven finale on Sept. 30 will be the "last scene/episode of Welcome to Plathville that I will ever film."
"When I look back at the last 7(!) years of my life on this show, I feel so many emotions," she began on Instagram Stories Sept. 30. "I was a sheltered, newly married, fundie kid when the show started and had no clue who I was."
The 27-year-old continued, "The last 7 years have had their respective challenges and there were definitely moments I didn't think I'd see the other side, but I'm here to prove myself wrong. This chapter closing brings some sadness—it is sad for me to see who I once knew, what they had the potential to become and the path they chose instead. It could have been so different."
Olivia added that her final appearance on Welcome to Plathville—which centers around now-former couple Kim Plath and Barry Plath, as well as their 10 kids—was "filmed a while ago."
"And since then, I've worked hard to get out of my contract—and succeeded!" she wrote, though noting that she still has "an NDA" to follow. "I have not only endeavored to distance myself from hate, bullying, but also reported harmful behavior, and tried to stand up for what is right. It sickens me to see violence, hatred, and dysfunction presented as entertainment."
E! News reached out to TLC for comment but has not yet heard back.
Olivia made her Welcome to Plathville debut during the show's first season in 2019. At the time, she had just tied the knot with Ethan—the oldest of Kim and Barry's children—after meeting him as a teenager. Four years later in 2023, the couple announced their separation before jointly filing for divorce the following year.
And two years after their initial separation, Olivia described her split from Ethan at "the best decision."
“20 year old me didn't know my worth," she wrote on Instagram in March. "She overstayed because she was scared of being told she didn't try hard enough. She thought she could convince someone to love and choose her but that was always going to be futile and make her insecure, emotionally unstable and have controlling tendencies.”
Now, according to the reality TV personality, she is "able to discern what her role is in a relationship, what's a conflict that's able to be resolved between two people willing to grow and what's worth walking away from."
"She knows now that when someone doesn't choose her," Olivia added of herself, "she's better off choosing herself and walking away instead of trying to change or control the situation."
