Johnny Depp Makes Return to Paris Fashion Week for First Time in More Than 30 Years

"Truly, the first time I felt I had a home was the place in the south of France where Vanessa and I raised the kiddies,” he told The Sunday Times in June. “That’s the only place that ever felt like home."

As the Oscar nominees recalled, “I was Papa. I cannot tell you how much I loved being Papa."

Unfortunately, that did change when the family started to spend more time in Los Angeles, with the Ed Wood star lamenting, “Papa was out the window. I was Dad."

Although he is hoping to be “Papa” once again should his kids have children of their own, joking, “Some motherf--ker's going to have to call me Papa!”

But for now, Johnny is just taking whatever time he can to live a calmer, quieter life.

"To this day I just rarely go out," he shared with The Sunday Times. “If friends invite me out for Mexican, I say, 'Dude, that’s sweet of you but I will ruin your night.’”

As he explained, he knows that his “presence will bring attention,” and despite his long career, it can still come as a surprise.

“I have had almost 40 years of fame,” he added, “but I'm still not used to it. And I’m glad I’m not."
