Sarah Jessica Parker is ripping an honest page from Carrie’s her diary.

Indeed, the Sex and The City alum—who shares kids James Wilkie Broderick, 22, and 16-year-old twin daughters Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick with husband Matthew Broderick—revealed the realistic reason why she doesn’t like to discuss her work-life balance.

“I feel peculiar and uncomfortable talking about balance, because I just don’t think it’s something I should comment on,” Parker, 60, explained in an interview for Hello’s October issue published Oct. 9, “out of respect for working parents.”

After all, the And Just Like That star believes it’s unfair to compare her experience to other moms, especially those who are dealing with different life obstacles.

“In my country, as well as in France and the UK and most of western Europe—and, frankly, the whole world—there are working mothers holding down two to three jobs with no support in terms of community and childcare,” Parker continued, “never mind the kind of healthcare that they need and deserve. So, I don’t really want to hear from me about how I balance being a working mother with having a professional life.”

But that’s not to say her journey in juggling her acting career with being a mom hasn’t been “emotionally complicated.” In fact, though her kids understand her busy schedule, it’s still difficult to have to limit her time with them.

“You’re missing things sometimes and it can feel pretty lousy, and sometimes it makes perfect sense and it’s all right and your child is fine,” the Hocus Pocus actor explained. “Generally speaking, even that is a choice. I am choosing to be a working person.”

And with that perspective in mind, Parker tries to find the beauty in being an actor and making memories with her family.

“But it’s a real privilege that I can be home at night for dinner,” she gushed. “When I’m on a set, I can’t be and that’s something else.”

Parker’s honest perspective comes over a month after she offered a look into her family, including her close bond with daughters Marion and Tabitha.

“I feel like there is an unfair idea about teenage twin girls,” she expressed during her appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends in August. “I find mine really likeable. I’m really fond of mine. I really love their company.”

And according to her, their different personalities make even the smallest of conversations “so interesting.”

“It’s like you’re constantly in a control study, ‘cause you have one of this type, and one of this type and they go to the same school,” she added. “They’re generally speaking, really kind, curious.”
