Billie Eilish had a less than lovely encounter with a fan.
As the 23-year-old made her way through the crowd during the opening show on the North American leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour in Miami, Florida, Oct. 9, a concertgoer grabbed her.
In a TikTok shared by a user named @its_nikkixo, the Grammy winner enthusiastically made her way off the stage and to the lower level to greet fans at the barricade with high fives. As the “Birds of a Feather” singer reached for one fan, they appeared to yank her and she stumbled into the barricade keeping the crowd back. After security guards helped her up, Billie swiftly bypassed the rest of the cheering crowd and headed backstage.
E! has reached out to Billie’s rep for a comment but has not heard back.
Billie’s fan encounter came as she began her three-night run of shows inside the venue which are set to continue Oct. 11 and 12. While she hasn’t addressed the incident directly, the Oscar winner has previously shared why she has become cautious during some encounters with fans.
“We all know the feeling of seeing yourself and being like, What is going on with me, I’m acting insane,” Billie told Vanity Fair in an interview published January 2021. “When you’re excited about something, you forget boundaries and you forget what’s polite and what’s kind of not polite. I’ve had a lot of weird situations—people will kiss me and pick me up, spin me around.”
She added, “It is definitely important to have the boundaries and also have people around you that can help in a situation like that. I never want to push away somebody that’s showing me only love. And even if it’s coming from a place of crazy love, I don’t ever want to push that too far away.”
And while she does take precautions when it comes to fans, Billie does in fact appreciate their support, especially the familiar faces in the crowd that she recognizes from day one.
“What’s been so cool is that all of these fans, all of my little family, we’ve been growing up at the same time,” Billie said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in September 2024. “So many kids, especially in L.A. because I’m from here and I’m around and stuff, when I was first starting out there would be certain kids that I would see at everything I would do, and we were all the same age.”
“Over the years, I’ve seen the same faces multiple times,” she added. “I recognized them obviously, I’m a person with eyes. It’s so special, it feels like seeing my old friend again.”

Todd A Spodek, a lawyer for Nicolas Malvagna, who was arrested and charged with assault, told TMZ, "As a fan, Mr. Malvagna's sole intention was to have Ms. Rexha take photos with his phone, and return it as a keepsake. It was never his intention to injure Ms. Rehxa."

But just give us a reason for why another fan tossed a bag of ashes the very next day. "This is your mom?" the "What About Us" singer asked. "I don't know how to feel about this."
Harry Styles
A sign of the times? Harry Styles had to get away from numerous flying objects during his Love on Tour, including, inexplicably, a handful of Skittles at a 2022 show in Los Angeles. A rep for the taste the rainbow brand later tweeted, "Didn't think I needed to say this: Please don't throw Skittles."
