Jan Ravnik is keeping his side of the street clean.
However, the Dancing With the Stars professional couldn’t help but call out people who have spread “hate” about his abilities ahead of his and partner Jen Affleck’s Oct. 28 elimination.
“I’m a person who doesn't appreciate hate,” Jan told E! News in an interview following the Halloween-themed episode, “or people who are spreading hate to stay relevant.”
Indeed, Taylor Swift’s former Eras Tour dancer made a point to express gratitude for DWTS host Derek Hough congratulating him on a “fantastic” first season.
“It felt great,” the 30-year-old shared. “I love that he said that. I love accepting love. I have so much respect for Derek and it means a lot to me."
And while Jan and Jen’s elimination came just days after DWTS alums Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Chmerkovskiy questioned his ability to adequately support The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star given his lack of ballroom dancing technique, Jen emphasized that she was “so grateful” to be paired with him.
“He’s the best dance partner I could ask for,” Jen—mom to three kids with husband Zac Affleck—tearfully explained in an E! News interview. “I’m not kidding. I’m so grateful for all his patience. He’s become almost like family, I mean my kids talk about him all day every day—that’s how much everyone loves him."
As the 26-year-old put it, “I just feel so grateful that he was able to be my partner.”
Despite their elimination, Jen and Jan were proud to show off exactly what they could do to Taylor’s reputation classic “Look What You Made Me Do.”
“I feel like I was able to fulfill a dream of mine,” Jen gushed. “The fact that I was able to dance to a Taylor Swift song with one of Taylor’s amazing dancers—that’s a win right there.”
Meanwhile, Jan emphasized that his star partner had “worked so hard” to be the actress starring in his bad dreams.
“You can see that,” he gushed. “She couldn’t have done better. I’m so happy that even though we are going home, we’re going home with a good performance and it’s not in our mind like, ‘Oh we could do better,’ because we gave everything.”
