Pat McGrath assures that Taylor Swift glows even brighter than the end of a cigarette in real life.
In fact, it’s hard for even the famed makeup artist, who has worked with the Grammy winner on several occasions including on her “Bejeweled” music video, to sum up what it’s like joining forces with Taylor.
“There are too many words,” Pat gushed in an exclusive interview with E! News on the Nov. 4 red carpet of Glamour Women of the Year awards. “Not only is she inspiring. Not only does she understand so much about makeup and beauty and everything.”
Indeed, Pat struggled to find an end to the list of Taylor’s best attributes, adding, "The kindest person, and also, very clever.”
The 54-year-old—who has also worked with Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson and Oprah—also couldn’t help but look back in awe at watching Taylor work her magic on the set of the “Bejeweled” music video.
“The fact that she can not only do the glam, but also direct, also edit, all at the same time—and light,” she effused. “That’s something else.”
And while Taylor’s portrait is undoubtedly at the very top of the proverbial mantle, Pat noted one of the 35-year-old’s best qualities is that she is “so approachable.”
“Hung out with my team, hung out with me,” Pat gushed. “Very down to Earth. That’s the truth.”
Of course, diamonds gotta shine together, and Pat is no less extraordinary than Taylor herself. After all, she was named as one of Glamour’s 2025 honorees for their Women of the Year awards, telling E! News that the offer had left her speechless.
“For once, I had nothing to say,” the Pat McGrath Labs founder admitted. “Then I was happy and joyful and what an honor. Isn’t that incredible? So, I’m very happy.”
And while Taylor has undoubtedly proved she’ll always be bejeweled, it was Pat who made the pure vision come to light in her 2022 music video.
“The moment I heard the title, 'Bejeweled' I had visions of scintillating, shimmering and sparkling," Pat explained to E! News at the time. “With all that inspiration and Taylor's brief, I had a million ideas of how we could use makeup to communicate her directorial vision and storytelling through makeup artistry.”
