Jimmy Kimmel is hitting pause.
Less than two months after returning to his late-night talk show following a temporary suspension, the talk show host postponed the taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Nov. 6 episode. E! News understands that Jimmy is dealing with a personal matter.
Madison Beer, who was supposed to perform during the episode, also confirmed the news on social media.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, “@jimmykimmellive needed to reschedule my performance that was originally scheduled to air tonight to a later date.”
The 26-year-old continued, “I’ll share more details on timing when I can, I can’t wait for you all to see it.”
Jimmy’s brief hiatus comes less than two months after his show went on a sudden hiatus and he was suspended “indefinitely” due to comments made during his Sept. 15 monologue following the fatal shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk.
The suspension ultimately lasted less than a week, with Jimmy sharing an emotional monologue in his first episode back on air.
"It was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man," he said, holding back tears. "I don't think there's anything funny about it."
He went on to emphasize what he had been trying to convey in the original monologue.
"That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make," he said. "But I understand that to some that felt either ill-timed or unclear—or maybe both—and for those who think I did point a finger, I get why you're upset. If the situation was reversed, it was a good chance I'd feel the same way."
He did, however, express his disagreement with ABC for pulling him off the air amid pressure from Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr.
"I told them that, and we had many conversations," Jimmy recalled, adding that ABC ultimately changed its mind. "We have short attention spans, and I am a tiny part of the Disney Corporation. They welcomed me back on the air, and I thank them for that."
The comedian also expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support he received amid his six-days off the air.
"I've heard from all the people over in the world over the last six days, everyone I have ever met has reached out 10 or 11 times," he said. "I also want to thank all of you who supported our show, cared enough to do something about it, to make your voices heard, so that mine could be heard. I will never forget it."
Jimmy added, "Maybe most of all, I want to thank the people who don't support my show and what I believe but support my right to share those beliefs anyway."
