Jacob Elordi Addresses “Prudish” Reactions to Saltburn NSFW Bathtub Scene

But when it came to the Emerald Fennell directed film? He notes Saltburn was just “a piece of fiction with something just a little taboo.”

“And that makes people's skin crawl,” he mused. “It's an interesting parallel.”

The infamous bathtub scene is one that Jacob has often been asked about, and one—along with the equally shocking gravesite scene—that he was actually thrilled to see on the big screen. 

“I was just really excited when I read that scene because you don’t really see things like that in mainstream movies a lot of the time,” he told Stream Wars in 2023. “It’s just great that Emerald was allowed to push those boundaries and expose people like that I think.”

And the boundaries continued to be pushed with the release of a Saltburn-inspired bathtub candle, which Jacob got to sniff in person. 

"It smells like a washing room—like detergent," he said on The Tonight Show in 2024. "His clothes are clean."

And of course, the Euphoria actor had a few questions about the candles themselves. 

"I want to know who's making the money," he joked. "Like, ‘Great, where's my money?'"
