Like a tango, it takes two to feud—just ask Jen Affleck.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star admitted that one reason behind her recent tension with Whitney Leavitt was their mutual desire to be cast on Dancing With the Stars. In fact, Jen aired her grievances over castmate Whitney Leavitt's return to MomTok after stepping back during the second season of their show—all in the hopes of getting on DWTS. As Jen put it, she feels Whitney is "only here for herself and her own opportunities."
"It’s frustrating for me because since the day I met her, I told her I wanted to go on Dancing With the Stars—that is literally one of my dreams," Jen shared on the third season of their Hulu series, which premiered Nov. 13. "The minute she sees there’s an opportunity, she’s like, ‘Oh wait, I’ve always wanted it.'"
But she's not wrong. After all, Whitney admitted in a personal confessional that the chance to be cast on DWTS was a big "motivator" to stay in the group, which also consists of Taylor Frankie Paul, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Demi Engemann, Jessi Ngatikaura and Layla Taylor.
However, the 32-year-old also emphasized that she was there for "sisterhood" as well.
"I worked my a-- off trying to get it back," Whitney said of her friendship with the other women, accusing them of greeting her with "hostility" upon her return. "This is exactly why I didn't want to come back, but there's this amazing opportunity, Dancing With the Stars, and it's something that I want. So, I'm going to go after it, and there's no shame."
Ultimately, they both landed spots DWTS' 34th season. Jen, 26, was partnered with Jan Ravnik, while Whitney competed alongside pro dancer Mark Ballas.
And when Jen was eliminated from the competition in October, she alluded to lingering tension between herself and Whitney. "I would be rooting for a former MomTok person," she quipped during a TikTok Live, "but we won’t be getting into that."
Jen went on to draw a line in the sand, telling E! News in early November that she has "no relationship" with Whitney.
“Unfortunately, some things happened, so we’ve just taken a step back," she explained, adding that they're "not on good terms."
As for Whitney? She also didn't make it to the DWTS finale, being sent home during the Nov. 19 episode. Still, the TikToker was grateful for the opportunity.
“I wanted to give it my all every single dance,” she told E! following her elimination. "There’s just some things that are out of your control, but I’m gonna leave just knowing that I gave it my all."
