Goldie Hawn’s family isn’t going overboard for her 80th birthday festivities.
That’s not to say, though, that the Oscar winner’s son Oliver Hudson and his family wouldn’t have given her the world to make her feel celebrated.
“We would have done anything for her,” he told Us Weekly in an interview published Nov. 21, Goldie’s actual birthday. “Totally up to her. [If] she wanted to go to the moon, we’d figure it out, but she’s a simple gal.”
So, when it comes to her big day, Goldie—who shares kids Oliver, 49, and Kate Hudson, 46, with ex Bill Hudson, as well as son Wyatt Russell, 39, with partner Kurt Russell—is keeping it low-key.
“She wants her family, and that’s it, and that’s what we’re doing now,” Oliver continued. “We have a lot of fun things planned within that she doesn’t know about, but we are just going to keep it [to family].”
As for what’s on the docket? The Scream Queens alum—dad to Wilder, 18, Bodhi, 15, and Rio, 12, with wife Erinn Bartlett—gave a peek into the Hudson family celebration.
“We’ve got some golf tournament things, we’ve got some cooks, [and] we might have some music,” he added. “We’ve got some stuff, but the patrons will be just the family.”
While Oliver was adamant about celebrating the Overboard actress on her milestone birthday, he wasn’t the only family member to give her her flowers. Indeed, his sister Kate also gave some “birthday love” to their mom.
“To distill half of her life that I’ve known into a single caption feels impossible,” the How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days actress wrote on Instagram alongside throwback pictures with Goldie. “I have been the lucky recipient of novels of love and wisdom from her.”
“She is truly extraordinary and as I celebrate her everyday, today we all get to share in it!” Kate added. “Please join me in wishing a huge Happy Birthday to this 80 year old queen goddess! We love you Mama.”
