Watch: How Oliver Hudson Is Preventing "Entitled" Kids Despite Famous Family

When it comes to parenting, Oliver Hudson learned from the best.

The Sibling Revelry podcast host offered insight into how Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell raised him—along with his siblings Kate Hudson, Boston Russell and Wyatt Russell—to keep their priorities in line while growing up in Hollywood.

“It starts within the four walls of your home,” Oliver, 49, told E! News in an exclusive interview at Make-A-Wish’s annual Wish Gala in Los Angeles Dec. 5. “It doesn't matter what any outside perspective is, how famous you are, how much money you have. When it's just you and your family is what really matters.”

The Happy Gilmore 2 actor—who presented his mom with the Power of a Wish Award at the event—commended Goldie, 80, and Kurt, 74, for their parenting, noting that it was “very important for them not to have entitled children.”

And as a father himself to kids Wilder, 18, Bodhi, 15, and Rio, 12, with wife Erinn Bartlett,  Oliver—whose biological dad is Bill Hudson—has followed his parents’ example while bringing up his own family.

“Now I can pass that along to my babies as well, taking from what Katie and I, and Wyatt in Boston, have learned as children,” he continued. “To be able to implement those strategies and feelings into our own children... All of the things that you see, all of the cameras and all the flashes, that's all BS.”

Goldie seems to have passed down more than just good values to her offspring. While Oliver and Kate have already followed in her showbiz footsteps, she hinted that her grandkids could be next.

“I don’t think we have a choice, frankly,” Goldie told Access Hollywood during a joint interview with Oliver and Rio in August. “Same with Kate. I didn’t have a choice, and I think this one, we don't have a choice.”

While Oliver also highlighted his daughter’s natural talent, he was adamant about not rushing her into the spotlight.

“She’s an amazing dancer, she loves to perform, it’s in her genes,” he told the outlet before adding, “We’re gonna do plays first.”

Should Rio decide to take up the family business, she’ll surely have a strong support system behind her. To see Goldie and Kurt’s sweetest moments with their grandkids, keep reading…
