Prepare to be crazy in love with the 2026 Met Gala co-chairs.
In addition to Anna Wintour—who always sits at the helm of the annual fashion event and fundraiser—Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams have been tapped to co-chair alongside the Vogue global editorial director.
Beyoncé’s appointment, in particular, is an exciting one as it will mark the superstar’s first time back at the Met Gala in a decade. The last time the Cowboy Carter artist graced the steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s front steps was in 2016, for the “Manus x Machina” gala.
For the occasion, Beyoncé worse Givenchy Haute Couture—proof she is sure to serve up an epic look for the 2026 theme of “Costume Art.”
Venus and Nicole, meanwhile, have each made regular appearances at the Gala over the years, with both stars attending 2025’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
The all-female lineup is a changeup from this past year’s all-male co-host ensemble, featuring Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams.
And much like the quartet each showed up and showed out for the 2025 ceremony, the trio of Nicole, Beyoncé and Venus is likewise sure to dress to the nines as they embody Costume Art, the theme paying homage to the junction between the human body and art.
The theme marks a pivotal moment for the Met and the Costume Institute, with the accompanying exhibit—featuring historical and contemporary pieces from the Costume Institute—being the first to occupy the Met’s new, Condé M. Nast Galleries.
For curator Andrew Bolton, the theme provides an exciting opportunity for exploration and innovation.
“I wanted to focus on the centrality of the dressed body within the museum, connecting artistic representations of the body with fashion as an embodied art form,” he said in a release shared by Vogue. “Rather than prioritizing fashion’s visuality, which often comes at the expense of the corporeal, ‘Costume Art’ privileges its materiality and the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear.”
The exhibit will be organized into a series of thematic body types, per Vogue, including the Naked Body, the Pregnant Body as well as the Aging Body.
The emphasis throughout the exhibit, Andrew previously explained, will be on the dressed body. After all, “what connects every curatorial department and what connects every single gallery in the museum is fashion.”
But while the co-hosts and attendees are busy in the early stages of preparing their looks for the first Monday of May in 2026, take a look back at every show-stopping outfit from this year’s gala.
