Josh Allen isn’t fumbling his road to fatherhood.
In fact, the Buffalo Bills quarterback is embracing the new role, one lighthearted joke at a time. Days after he and wife Hailee Steinfeld announced that they’re expecting their first baby together, he shared his cheeky reaction to the news.
“I’ve known for a long time, right? So it’s not that crazy to me,” Josh, 29, teased during a Dec. 14 interview, shortly after his team’s win against the New England Patriots. “But obviously, the love that I’ve received from my teammates and friends? It’s been really cool. It’s a special moment in [me and] my wife’s life.”
Indeed, many of the couple’s friends—including Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Sophie Turner and more—have showered them with love following this sweet update in their marriage. Hailee, 29, first announced the news in her Beau Society Substack Dec. 12, where she posted a video of the NFL star kissing her growing baby bump as they stood in the snow.
The Sinners actor also reflected on “some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small,” in honor of her 29th birthday, and fittingly, her pregnancy and summer wedding to Josh made the list.
“28 was wild, beautiful, humbling, and full of the kind of moments that sneak up and change you quietly,” Hailee wrote in the post. “This year, I’ve been reminded of how precious life is. I’ve surprised myself in a thousand different ways.”
This isn’t the first time the “Dangerous” singer has praised her romance with Josh. Nearly six months after the duo tied the knot in California, she detailed how their relationship has changed her life so far.
“That inner peace that you have, that rock, that solid, consistent part of your life is indescribable,” Hailee told Bustle in November. “I literally thank God every day that I found my person, and it’s the greatest thing in the world. Life makes sense. Everything makes sense.”
She continued, “I feel like I am stepping into the version that I've always dreamed of being, having so much to do with being with him.”
And true to their chemistry, Josh has also shared similar sentiments about how Hailee has enriched his life.
“She makes everything easier, so I don’t really focus on the other stuff,” the football player explained during a press conference in June, before turning his attention to their marriage. “That was the most important decision I'll make in my life—and I made the right one.”
