Taylor Swift is always paying the check before it kisses the mahogany grain.

Indeed, Feeding America confirmed that “The Life of a Showgirl” singer had made another considerable donation to the non-profit in honor of the holiday season.

“We are incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift’s $1 million gift to Feeding America,” the organization’s CEO Claire L. Babineaux-Fontenot wrote in a statement Dec. 23. “This holiday season, her continued support is a powerful reminder of what is possible when we unite to end hunger.

She continued, “When we join together alongside people facing hunger, we can make sure families have a full table this holiday season and beyond.”

Taylor has continued her relationship with Feeding America over the last year, as she previously gave a $5 million sum in wake of Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts.

“Thank you, Taylor,” the organization wrote in a separate statement at the time. “For standing with us in a moment to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”

Throughout her 20-year career, Taylor has earned a reputation for her charitable giving. In 2014, she began what was coined as “Swiftmas” which saw her send thousands of dollars' worth of presents as well as cash gifts to her fans around Christmastime.

And in 2020, she began sending cash to fans amid dire circumstances during the height of COVID-19 pandemic.

“Erin, I saw your tweets about the financial and emotional stress you’re under right now and it made me want so badly to help,” Taylor wrote in a letter to a fan in 2020. “I’m so sorry about your job and the uncertainty of what’s going on right now. I hope this gift of $3000 will help. I loved meeting you in New York and I hope you’re safe and healthy!”

Taylor proved her generosity tenfold amid The Eras Tour, when she gave hefty bonuses to not only her crew, band and team, but also donating significant sums to food banks in the cities she made tour stops in.

The Chief Marketing Officer at the Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver Aditi Desai confirmed that Taylor donated “tens of thousands of meals” to the organization amid her 2023 Eras Tour stop, noting she was “shocked and then thrilled” by the gesture.

“They were so kind,” she explained to the Associated Press, “letting us know that Taylor wanted to express her gratitude for the work we do in our community every day.”

But while Taylor has changed over the years, she’s also stayed the same. In the earliest days of her career, Taylor emphasized that her favorite part of earning a lot of money is getting to give it away.

“For me, that’s the most fun thing in the world,” she explained during an interview on The Hot Desk in 2009. “Rather than buying a Lamborghini, I just make sure everyone feels like they’re in the right place.”

As she put it, “You do it because you’ve been given a real good lot in life and I just am really grateful so I try to help other people when I can.”
