Some days Teyana Taylor's life truly is one battle after another.
Before wowing on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes the actress—the first winner of the night for her work in the thriller—had to get past kids Junie, 10, and Rue, 5.
"Those are my two biggest fashion critics," she acknowledged to Justin Sylvester on LIVE from E!: Golden Globes 2026 Jan. 11. "But they was living tonight. They was living tonight."
Best believe she was bejeweled in custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture. "The crack is covered in diamonds," she joked. "Expensive, expensive."
And she wasn't the only star making the whole place shimmer at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills for the Nikki Glaser-hosted event, airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. (Check out all the winners here.)
The moment Ayo Edebiri and her stylist spied her elegant, off-the-shoulder Chanel on the runway, it was an immediate, yes, chef!
"It was just like the most beautiful cinematic show," the star, nominated for her work on The Bear, explained to E!'s Zuri Hall. "We were like, that's just the one. And we got to create this, like, movie star-feeling old Hollywood kind of moment."
Kate Hudson hit the same high note with her custom Armani Privé. "I just loved it," she raved to E!. "It’s absolutely gorgeous.
As for Elle Fanning, she didn't intend for her Gucci gown to have, uh, sentimental value. But the nominee—recognized for her work in the tragicomedy—told E! that she'd learned hours earlier the hand-sewn flowers on her gown "actually resembles the national flower of Norway. And I'm here in a Norwegian film, and we didn't even plan it."
Though, to hear Colman Domingo tell it, few things on the red carpet are left to chance.
"It's all storytelling," the presenter told E! News of his custom Valentino, paired with Boucheron jewels. "I think every cut, every detail, the color of the watch, the jewelry, why it's worn on one side, like even people look at the symmetry."
Working with his glam squad, "All of this was discussed," he noted, "and nothing was just placed on."
Which is why Alicia SIlverstone wasn't totally bugging as she was fitted into her red hot Nicole + Felicia gown.
While the Bugonia actress—the Emma Stone-led thriller is up for three trophies, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy—acknowledged to E! that the dress was "very tight," she revealed, "there’s a tailor last-minute who’s wonderful."
Tessa Thompson was equally intentional when selecting her sparkly Balenciaga.
Nominated as the titular lead in Hedda, "We wanted to do a little homage to Hedda herself," she explained to E!. "She wears a green dress for most of the film and sort of slinks around so that's what we're doing tonight."
For nominees like Sinners' Michael B. Jordan, One Battle After Another's Leonardo DiCaprio and Taylor, Marty Supreme's Timothée Chalamet, Hamnet's Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, Die My Love's Jennifer Lawrence and Wicked: For Good's Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, it's their moment.
Dreamin' hard, they came so far, now they believe they could hear their names called as the trophies are handed out by presenters Kaley Cuoco, Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling and Sarah Paulson in the ceremony airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another leads the pack with nine nods, including Best Director, Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Supporting Male Actor (Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn), Best Supporting Female Actor (Taylor), Best Female Actor – Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy (Chase Infiniti) and Best Male Actor – Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy (DiCaprio).
From the small screen side of the room, The White Lotus is checking in with six nominations, recognizing potential Best Supporting Female Actors Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Aimee Lou Wood and possible Best Supporting Male Actors Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs.
And with the star wattage turned all the way up, second-time host Glaser is tweaking her own performance.
Name-dropping nominees like DiCaprio, Penn and After the Hunt's Julia Roberts, the comedian noted to Gayle King on CBS Mornings Jan. 6, "I am a huge fan of these people. It’s easy for me to take down the newer batch of actresses and actors who are younger than me. It's like, 'OK, I can make fun of you. I'm like a veteran.' But when it's people that I grew up admiring, it's a different approach this year."
As such, she worried that it'd be a big mistake—huge—to poke fun at Roberts.
"I’m trying out my monologue around L.A., at the clubs here, and just even any joke about Julia Roberts, they are not there for," Glaser added. "You cannot make fun of America’s Sweetheart."
And the Oscar winner wasn't the only pretty woman walking the carpet outside the Beverly Hilton Jan. 11. Welcome to Hollywood. What's your dream? Because ours is to check out all of the night's looks.
