If you have a fake medical emergency, now you know for sure which TV doctor you want by your side.
"I'm the better doctor," The Pitt's Noah Wyle, a Golden Globe nominee for Best Actor in a TV Drama, exclusively told Zuri Hall on LIVE From E!: Golden Globes 2026 when asked who was the superior physician, him or George Clooney.
He then challenged his former ER costar to try to remember one of Dr. Ross' 1990s-era speeches, as Wyle himself could apparently recall at least one of his own lengthy monologues from playing Dr. Carter.
"Put him to that test," he told Hall, "and see how well he does."
And with that, the surgical gloves were off.
But Clooney, who's also a nominee at the Jan. 11 ceremony—Best Lead Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy for his stretch of a turn playing a movie star in Jay Kelly—would be first to admit that Wyle always had a knack for at least sounding like he really knew what he was talking about.
"He never had any trouble. He always could do it, and I hated him for it," Clooney quipped last June on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "People should hate Noah."
But, all jokes aside, he was truly happy for his former colleague.
"We've been really dear friends since [ER], since we did the pilot," Clooney said. "He's just the most honorable young man—I get to say, because I'm an old man. And I cannot be happier for his success on this show. The show is just a beautiful show. He does a great job with it."
However, if you're hosting a poker night, you probably want to go with the actor who starred in Ocean's Eleven.
Revealing that his wife Sara Wells won't let him go to The Pitt cast poker games at Katherine LaNasa's house, Wyle explained that he's "a really bad gambler."
"I have no poker face whatsoever," he told Hall. "Very good actor, very bad liar. When I play, I tend to lose a lot of money."
And, Wyle said with a smile, "I gamble with our livelihood enough, she doesn't need me playing cards."
Still, we'd bet on Wyle and The Pitt, which just returned for its second season on HBO and has already been renewed for a third, any day.
As for what we can expect from season two, which unfolds over the course of what promises to be a very long Fourth of July shift in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center's ER, Wyle quipped, "You're gonna mix alcohol, patriotism and fireworks, that's gonna be an explosive combination. A lot of very creative injuries we're going to be treating."
