As the Fox hit serial-killer thriller races toward its season one finale on April 29, the tension between cult leader Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) and the former FBI agent who ended his killing spree Ryan (Kevin Bacon) is at an all-time high, which means it's time for one of their super intense phone conversations!
In this exclusive sneak peek from next Monday's episode, Joe calls Ryan for some help with his novel (you know, the one about Ryan) and the usually cool and calculated Joe seems "desperate"!
"What really interests me is your father," Joe says to Ryan about his struggle writing the hero of his book. "Would you mind telling me what defines Ryan Hardy?"
The episode's writer Amanda Kate Shuman previews, "It becomes a mind game between Joe and Ryan…This is a really exciting episode and it has a bunch of really emotional twists."
