Tyler Golden/NBCIt's a new year, and we're feeling pretty good about all the exciting TV events we have to look forward to in 2015! In fact, there are 14 pretty major TV events we can hardly wait to see this year. But with the good comes the bad.
That's right...it's time to take a look at the calendar and plan ahead for those nights you know you'll need copious amounts of wine to get through a certain premiere, or series finale, or not-so-exciting return of a familiar face on a certain show you're ready to put to bed for good.
Check out the eight TV events we're absolutely dreading to see in 2015 below!
Saying goodbye to Parks and Rec. OK, we're stocking up on kleenex now because we know we're going to be blubbering, sobbing messes when NBC's fan-favorite comedy airs its series finale in February. How are we supposed to say goodbye to Pawnee and all of its loveable, yet totally goofy citizens? How will we live without the swoonworthy love story of Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben (Adam Scott)?! Answer: by going back and binge-watching the series from the very beginning.
The Music Man Live! Well, it really all depends on who they cast for the next live TV musical event! It could either be really fun to watch, or really fun to hate-watch. But all we're hoping for is a broadcast that is fun to watch for one reason or another during the entire three-hour block.
Saying goodbye to David Letterman on The Late Show. It's truly the end of an era when Letterman retires from his hosting duties, but at least we'll have the extremely-capable and always-entertaining Stephen Colbert waiting in the wings to take over The Late Show in September!
The upcoming death on Parenthood. Knowing that there is a death coming on the NBC family drama isn't making the buildup to it any easier. Nope, nope, nope. We are so not ready to lose one of the Bravermans, especially now that it seems like we're going to be losing the frustrating-yet-loveable patriarch Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) due to his heart problems. Oh, Parenthood, we love you, but we hate you for constantly breaking our hearts!
The return of Heroes. Seeing as how this fan-favorite NBC drama was only good in season one (seriously, don't even get us started on the final seasons), we are giving the network major some side-eye for rebooting it as a 13-episode miniseries. The man in the horn-rimmed glasses, Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman), is already on board for the reboot, but there's just no way Heroes: Reborn will be able to capture that spark the series had in its early years. Although, we'll be more than happy to be proven wrong.
Charlie Sheen's possible return to Two and a Half Men. Oy. After all the hullabaloo surrounding Sheen's notorious exit from Chuck Lorre's sitcom, the news that he might be returning for the series finale had us rolling our eyes so hard they almost popped out of their sockets! Is there a level this show won't stoop to?!
More attempts at rebooting classic shows. Did we miss a memo sent around to studio and network execs telling them that it's better to reboot an old, classic show or movie rather than greenlighting new ideas? It seems like the majority of shows in development right now are just reboots, and even though most of them have yet to premiere, we're already tired of the trend. Give us fresh, new, creative shows, please and thank you!
Cancelation season. We're still not over all the heartbreaking TV cancelations of the fall, so you can bet we're really not ready to say goodbye to shows that get the ax come this spring! Which cult-favorite, ratings-troubled show won't live to see another season? We're are absolutely dreading finding out! Start praying to your TV god of choice now...
