People Are Really Pissed That The Lego Movie Got Snubbed at the Oscars

Phil Lord, the writer of the animated comedy, took to Twitter to show off the Academy Award statue he made for himself

We just want to start this post out by flailing like giddy school children over Big Hero 6's Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film! It's not a surprising nomination by any stretch, but we are still so psyched to see one of our favorite movies of the year (animated and otherwise) get the nod it so deserves.

BAYMAX FOR ALL THE AWARDS!

Now for the bad news. The Lego Movie did not get a nomination in the Best Animated Film category, which was quite surprising. Not only are people shocked by this snub…they are pissed. The Lego Movie's writer Phil Lord had the best response on Twitter, though:

Still, all the Lego Oscar statues in the world would not be enough for the fans whose days and possibly lives are now ruined by this blatant crime against cinema:

But regardless of your anger toward the Academy, remember that just because The Lego Movie isn't nominated for the big category (it did get a Best Original Song nod for "Everything Is Awesome"), it doesn't mean you can't enjoy it or love it just as much as you did before this morning.
