Stephen Colbert Shaves BeardCBS

Good news everybody, Stephen Colbert still exists!

The new host of The Late Show hasn't truly disappeared since Comedy Central's Colbert Report ended back in December— he was on The Mindy Project!—but now he's back doing what he does best: making videos about his beard...aka the "Colbeard."

But before he begins hosting The Late Show, Colbert had to ditch the Colbeard. We know, we're crying too. It was so gloriously salt and pepper-y!

Before it goes away—and spoiler alert, it's already gone, we saw Colbert at CBS' 2015 Upfronts and he was completely beardless—Colbert had some fun shaving it off and he recorded the entire process. Because why just shave it all off in one sitting? That's so boring.

First up? The "Un-Hitler." That's based on a new comic book character Colbert is working on. It's the exact opposite of Adolf Hitler. Yup.

Next up is...the "Amish?" Because apparently millennials love the Amish. So it's time for the entire moustache to take a Rumspringa!

And then you've got to check out Colbert's "Half Wolverine." It's just amazing.

Press play to watch Colbert's many, many steps in getting rid of his beard. Oh Colbeard, we'll miss you!

Warning: do not eat a hot dog while watching the video. Just trust us on this one.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert premieres September 8 on CBS.
