It's a big day for Zayn Malik.

The former One Direction crooner has participated in his first major interview since leaving the "Perfect"-singing boy band with The Fader, and in it he'll explain a number of topics including why he left, what to expect from him in the future and what it was like the last morning with his four pals.

In the meantime, The Fader has released a short film about his interview in which Zayn appears shirtless and riding a motorcycle through the forest, which is fitting because he explains that most of his forthcoming album was recorded "out in the woods...which is quite weird."

If you thought Zayn lost any of his hotness since leaving 1D, think again. The new solo singer smolders while briefly explaining the roots of his new record. Even though we can't keep our eyes off of him in the video, it's our ears that are also having a moment because the background music is a snippet of Zayn's first solo single, "Befour."

That title is going to spark some serious conspiracy theories among the Directioners.

The droney, dark instrumentals are all you get of what will now probably be considered a highly anticipated album, but hey, at least it's something. Zayn has been talking about his music from the moment he left the band, so now we're finally getting a taste of what's to come.

He also explains to the publication that his album is a result of a variety of factors, including life in the very public eye with 1D.

"Life experiences have just been the influences for the album and just stuff that I've been through especially in the last five years," he explains in the film. "Being in the band and everything."

In a teaser for what will be found in the full interview, however, Zayn opens up a little bit more. I don't feel like people really know what I'm going to give them, musically," Zayn says. "And once they hear it, I feel like they will understand me a little bit more, and they'll understand why I did what I did, and why I left the band, and why I had to write this s--t down.

"Because for five—not even for five years, for ten years, this album has been in my brain," he adds, "and it's just been there, sat with me, needing to be out."
