InstagramKaley Cuoco has had a rough week.
The Big Bang Theory actress is a major dog lover and a big advocate for dog adoption. Unfortunately, she had to say goodbye to not one but two of her precious pups within the last seven days—one of them being the first dog she ever adopted.
Cuoco took to Instagram on Dec. 31—what would have been her wedding anniversary with Ryan Sweeting—to share the story about losing her very first pup, Petey, who she got at just 16-years-old.
"Anyone who knows me, knows Petey. He was basically the first dog I ever had," she shared. "Here we are 15 years later. My folks gave him the greatest life and he taught us what it meant to love an adoption pup. I have since named my corporation after him (peteypie inc) and he has brought a lifetime of joy and laughs to our entire family. I know he will now enjoy doggie heaven where there will be an abundance of greenies just for him. This little guy, I will never ever forget."
Then, on Friday morning, Cuoco shared that she lost another dog, Chester.
"It hasn't been a great week for dogs so with a heavy heart I must tell you, sweet Chester (aka Chedder cheese) has passed away," she wrote beside an adorable photo of him on Instagram. "We rescue these angels blindly and have no idea what problems they may have.. I'm still in shock but I just keep feeling blessed to have him in my life even for a small amount of time."
She added, "He was such a joy- hilarious ears and followed me everywhere I went. He loved people so so much- loved being held and cuddled. Slept right on my pillow every night. I can sleep knowing that he felt extreme love towards the end of his life."
Cuoco has always been very outspoken about her love for animals and pet adoptions, treating her dogs like children. In fact, she once dished to E! News that while she "can't wait to have kids," she plans to "start at the very beginning" in teaching them how to love their animal siblings, too.
We're sending Kaley lots of love during this difficult time!
