Tom Hiddleston isn't just a bad guy; he's also the bearer of bad news.
Ahead of April Fools' Day, Hiddleston—a.k.a. Loki in the Marvel Universe films—showed up to the Chicago 32 station yesterday to give his take on the local weather report.
To explain the unfavorable weather in the Chicago area, the actor blamed his onscreen brother, Thor. "My brother from another mother has been misbehaving," he said. "The god of thunder has brought his skill-set to bear on the local weather."
Hiddleston went on to cite co-star Chris Hemsworth as the cause for the unfortunate conditions that are plaguing the area.
"There's a huge storm front coming in, and all that means is Chris Hemsworth has taken his hammer and smashed it on the surface of the sky and it's going to rain a hell of a lot," he said. "So, good luck with that."
Hiddleston and Hemsworth have played brothers for a few years now, appearing in both Thor films as well as in The Avengers. Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki in the upcoming third installment of the series, Thor: Ragnarok, which is set for late 2017.
The Crimson Peak star was in Chicago to promote his new biopic, I Saw the Light, where he stars as American country-western singer Hank Williams. The movie is being buzzed about not only for Hiddleston's breakout leading role, but also because of a rumored romance with co-star Elizabeth Olsen.
Before making his debut as a weatherman yesterday, Hiddleston appeared earlier this week on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he showed off some of his singing chops from the new film. The busy actor also currently stars in the BBC series, The Night Manager.
Reporting the weather, battling the villains of Asgard, and singing country tunes?! We can't wait to find out what else the British actor can do.
