Jake Gyllenhaal may have been crushing on Jennifer Aniston while filming 2002's The Good Girl, but the Friends star insists she never suspected a thing.

"Sweet," Aniston said when I told her yesterday about Gyllenhaal recently revealing his crush secret. "That's adorable."

Aniston's Mother's Day co-star Jason Sudeikis cracked, "Whatever happened to him?"

"I know, it's a shame," Aniston said. "He had such potential...And then The Good Girl ruined his career."

Gyllenhaal admitted during an interview last week with People's Jess Cagle that his feelings for Ms. Aniston began way before they made The Good Girl. "I will say, I had a crush on her for years. And working with her was not easy...I was–um, yeah. That's all I'm going to say. It was lovely. It wasn't hard, that's what I would say."

In the new Garry Marshall-directed ensemble Mother's Day (in theaters on April 29), Aniston plays a single mother of two who learns that her ex-husband (Timothy Olyphant) has married his much younger girlfriend (Pretty Little Liars' Shay Mitchell). Kate Hudson plays one of Aniston's pals who is dealing with family secrets when her mother (Margo Martindale) makes an unexpected visit.

Sudeikis is a former Marine who is raising two daughters after his wife is killed in combat. He and Aniston's characters begin a flirtation after meeting in a grocery store.

And then there's Julia Roberts. The Oscar winner plays a Home Shopping Network mogul who is found by the daughter (Britt Robertson) she gave up for adoption.

"I love her and I've known her forever," Aniston said of Roberts. "So it was really fun to actually be able to [work together]. I was actually a little nervous, I have to say...She's so super awesome. She's funny. Oh, she's funny."
