Taylor Swift's social media hiatus has come to a halt—thanks to her cat.

After a non-stop stream of glossy photos from her Fourth of July squad soirée, Taylor's Instagram account suddenly went dry. Then, two weeks later, in the midst of her controversy with Kanye West, she issued a statement and then went dark again. One week after that, a single photo of her teenage self and BFF Selena Gomez popped up as a birthday message to the "Hands to Myself" singer.

Throughout that time, she not only kept a low digital profile, but also a physical one. Paparazzi rarely saw her during her Australian getaway with beau Tom Hiddleston and once she returned to Los Angeles, she was barely sighted aside from a few gym visits and a weekday date night with the Thor actor. Bottom line: it certainly seems like she's been enjoying her time off in private

Fortunately for fans, the Grammy winner finally offered a glimpse into her highly guarded life behind the scenes when she shared a video of her cat Olivia Benson on Instagram's newly rolled out feature, Instagram Stories.

"What's going on?" Taylor says to her pet from behind the camera. "You gonna look less like a cat and more like a squirrel today?" she joked as Olivia stood up on her back legs.

While the pop star has been lying low following a busy month of headlines, including her surprise romance with Hiddleston and her ongoing feud with West, she can't seem to avoid getting sucked back into the limelight by her fellow celebrities.

Just a day ago, Justin Bieber sent a message to the world when he uploaded a screenshot of himself FaceTiming with a smiling West. If the photo was not enough of an indication of where the "Sorry" singer's loyalties seem to fall, Bieber added more fuel to the fire with his caption. "Taylor swift what up," he quipped.

After Kim Kardashian shared recordings of Swift approving lyrics from West's track "Famous" on Snapchat in July, the singer took to Instagram to clarify what exactly she had agreed to.

"Where in the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch' in his song? It doesn't exist because it never happened. You don't get to control someone's emotional response to being called ‘that bitch' in front of the entire world," the Instagram message began. "Of course I wanted to like the song. I wanted to believe Kanye when he told me that I would love the song."

"I wanted us to have a friendly relationship. He promised to play the song for me, but he never did. While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot 'approve' a song you haven't heard," she continued.

"I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009," she concluded, referencing the root of her ongoing conflict with the rapper, who famously interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Before the recordings had been released, Swift's rep told E! News "Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message." While the videos do show Swift's approval of the lyrics,"For all my Southside n-----s that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex," none of Kim's Snapchats feature video or audio of her approving the lyrics "I made that bitch famous."
