Screen Actors Guild Awards

Six days after kicking off her heels at the Golden Globes, Thompson opted for more comfortable Christian Louboutin sandals. When she presented an award with Ewan McGregor that night, she immediately quipped, "Is this music available on CD?"

Golden Globe Awards

The Saving Mr. Banks star appeared onstage with her Christian Louboutins in one hand and a martini in the other. "I just want you to know, this red, it's my blood," Thompson joked about the red bottoms of her heels. "I present the nominees, well, not me the Voice of God, for Best Screenplay." Before announcing the winner, she handed Miss Golden Globe Sosie Bacon her drink and threw her shoes behind her. Classic Thompson.

The Advocate

Asked who she would like to play opposite her in a lesbian love story, Thompson jokingly told the LGBTQ magazine, "After full-on snogging Meryl Streep in Angels in America, where do you go from there? We practically had sex, for God's sake." Upon further consideration, she chose Sandra Bullock. "Oh, there are so many beautiful women," she said. "Well, I met Sandy Bullock at an awards thing a couple years ago, and she said to me, 'If I were gay, you'd be the one.' I said, 'I'm there!'"

National Board of Review Awards

After Meryl Streep introduced the actress—and dissed Walt Disney in the process—Thompson took the stage and poked fun at her look in Saving Mr. Banks. "It's been an extraordinary year for women's roles. I can't think what gave me the edge. It must have been the perm, which was a great sacrifice," she laughed. "It meant no sex [with my husband, British actor Greg Wise] for months on end."

Suffice to say, Thompson wasn't a fan of the perm she got to play P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks. "It was a nightmare. People would bleat in the streets as I went by. I didn't have sex for six months!"

The Daily Mail

Thompson isn't a fan of Miley Cyrus' provocative persona, but she doesn't fault the singer for her transformation. "She made the choice of going hyper-sexual for a reason, and we're all responsible for that, because that's what we buy, and that's what we click on," she said. "Those quick clicks are dangerous." The actress also said she's deeply concerned about young men who look at porn regularly, as many of them "cannot function sexually because they've lost the use of their imagination."

Sunday Times

Thompson announced that she's forgiven Helena Bonham Carter for the extramarital affair that ended her six-year union to Kenneth Branagh in 1995. "It's all blood under the bridge. You can't hold on to anything like that. It's pointless. I haven't got the energy for it. Helena and I made our peace years and years ago," she revealed. Thompson even acknowledged the similarities between herself and the Lone Ranger star, saying they're "both slightly mad and a bit fashion-challenged. Perhaps that's why Ken loved us both. She's a wonderful woman, Helena."

Hand and Footprint Ceremony

When Thompson stepped off a box at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, she lost her balance and tripped. Laughing, she threw her hands down in mock exasperation before regaining her composure.
