15 Disney Characters We Need to See On OUAT

In its five seasons on the air, Once Upon a Time has been a constant delight as it re-imagines iconic Disney characters through their very unique lens. With no end for the show in sight, we've got a few demands on particular characters who haven't found their way to Storybrooke yet—and who'd be a perfect fit. Check out our top choices!

The Incredibles Parr family

The Parr family superpowers would not be all that out of place in magical Storybrooke. They'd be able to stay out of hiding and assist Emma and Regina with whatever insane fairy tale creature comes to town with havoc in its mind next. And we'd kill for a cameo from Edna Mode fitting Charming for a suit once he develops his inevitable bromance with Mr. Incredible.

Up's Carl

It's time Granny get some lovin', so who better to woo the diner owner than the lovable curmudgeon Carl? Ed Asner could bring some levity to Storybrooke reprising the Up character, just so long as the powers-that-be don't send him and Granny off to a happily ever after in his balloon house!

Inside Out's Joy

Once Frozen became a global hit, OUAT wasted no time bringing Anna and Elsa to Storybrooke. Now that Inside Out has proven to be a massive success of its own, how long do we have to wait for Joy herself to stroll in to Granny's for a quick bite? We hear Amy Poehler's free...

Aladdin

Sure, Jafar and the Genie were a part of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (RIP), but the street rat of Agrabah himself has yet to be worked in to the OUAT-universe. We'd love to see what sort of mischief Aladdin and his magic carpet could get into in Storybrooke.

Pocahontas

What if what was just around the riverbend was a town called Storybrooke? OK, Maine and Virginia aren't that close, but we'd love to see what the OUAT team could do with Pocahontas. Something tells us she'd quite literally paint with all the colors of the wind. Bonus points if her pet raccoon Meeko came along for some fun!

Star Wars The Force Awakens' BB-8

Ever since the Star Wars franchise became a Disney property, OUAT has given several winking nods to the film series, but with Star Wars: The Force Awakens-mania taking the world by storm, the time is right for at least one character to make an intergalactic trip to Storybrooke for a brief cameo. Our choice? Adorable new droid BB-8. Imagine that little guy rolling down Main Street!

Hocus Pocus' Sanderson sisters

A Halloween episode of Once Upon a Time, where the three witchy sisters, played oh-so-deliciously by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy in the cult favorite 1993 film, attempt to suck the souls out of all of Storybrooke's children, including Henry? It's already our favorite episode ever and it's not even real. Fingers crossed a virgin will light the black flame candle over at ABC soon!

Toy Story

We're going to be greedy and say we want the entirety of Andy's toy box to pay Emma, Charming, Snow and the rest of the gang a visit. But seriously, how have Buzz and Woody not even made a cameo yet?! Wouldn't you love to see a space ranger, cowboy and pirate (Captain Hook) all share a hot chocolate at Granny's Diner? We smell a sitcom spinoff in the making!

Tangled's Flynn Ryder

Sure, it weirds us out that we are attracted to an animated character. But 1) that's a problem for our therapist to work out. And 2) Come on, it's Flynn Ryder. The thief-turned-prince would make for a perfect OUAT guest star, especially if Zachary Levi, who is basically a real-life Disney prince himself, tackled the role he voiced in the 2010 hit. Mandy Moore, feel free to tag along as Rapunzel, too!

Wreck It Ralph's game worlds

While we'd love to see Ralph, Vanellope and Fix-It Felix appear on the show, we're way more interested in seeing how OUAT would show the colorful and seriously awesome various game worlds from the 2012 film, especially "Sugar Rush," the candy-filled heaven we wish we could move to and never, ever leave. Also: go-karts. What more could you want?

The Princess and the Frog's Tiana

Anyone else think Keke Palmer, who is set to tackle the role of Cinderella on Broadway, was born to play Tiana (originally voiced by Anika Noni Rose), the aspiring chef-turned-frog turned-princess from the 2009 animated hit? And it would be fun to see OUAT get a little New Orleans flair and possibly a voodoo-loving villain.

The Santa Clause's Bernard

No, we're still not over the fact that our favorite arch-elf was not in the third and final movie of Tim Allen's Christmas trilogy. So the wish we're asking Santa for this year is simply to have Dave Krumholtz break out Bernard's cap and wig for an appearance. (Hmm...maybe if we got our hands on the magic snow globe he gave Charlie?)

Tarzan's Tarzan

New love interest for Emma alert?! Stranger things have happened, and we'd love to see how Hook would respond to Tarzan as a romantic rival. It's hard to compete with a man in a loincloth.

Air Bud's Buddy

Do we really need to explain this one? The accompanying photo should speak (or bark) for itself.

The Jungle Book's Mowgli

With the live-action-animation hybrid film featuring Bill Murray, Lupita Nyong'o, Christoper Walken and Scarlett Johansson on the way, OUAT could beat director Jon Favreau to the punch and introduce Mowgli and some of his wild friends. Who knows, maybe the gang will get stuck in the Indian jungle and need the young man-cub's help.

Brave's Merida

The perfect Disney heroine to follow Frozen's Anna and Elsa? The fiery and independent Scottish redhead Merida, and we already know the perfect person to tackle the role: Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie, who played the equally fiery and fierce Ygritte. Plus, she already has the archery skills required.

UPDATE: Co-creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz made good on their word when they told us they was hoping to bring Merida to OUAT one day. And though our dream casting of Rose didn't become a reality, Amy Manson's handled the role rather perfectly!

101 Dalmations' Cruella de Vil

"Cruella De Vil, Cruella De Vil. If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will!" Confession: we find Cruella to be one of Disney's scariest yet most fun villains ever. And we'd love to see Glenn Close reprise her role from the 1998 live-action film (as well as the 2000 sequel) and duke it out with Regina. Please just keep all the puppies away from the fur-lover, especially Pongo!

UPDATE: Though it wasn't Glenn in the iconic furs on OUAT, the show introduced the icy villain in the second half of season four, with Victoria Smurfit in the role.

Hercules

We'd love to see the son of Zeus head to the small screen again, especially if Ryan Gosling, who played a younger version of the Greek demi-god in Young Hercules from 1998-99, came back to play the character. #NeverForget. (Sorry, Kevin Sorbo!)

UPDATE: OUAT is getting mythological in the second half of season five with the addition of Jonathan Whitesell as Hercules and Kacey Rohl as his lady love, Meg!
