White Slip
Kristen Wiig looks like she spent a relaxing day in bed wearing a silky white slip...then decided to try and pass it off as her Emmys attire. Once again, a nice accessory or statement piece would have added to the look...we're just not in love.
Grecian Goddess
Laverne Cox looks like she stepped off the clouds of Mount Olympus and down onto the 2014 Emmys red carpet. The Orange Is the New Black star reminds us of Grecian royalty in her tunic-style gown and pulled-back hairstyle.
Halloween Inspired
Natalie Dorner stepped out in this orange and black duo, and although the shape flatters the Game of Thrones' stars figure nicely, the color scheme just takes us right back to Halloween. The orange and black combination is always a hard one to nail...you have to get the shades just right...
Bridesmaid Gone Wrong
We're guessing that Laura Prepon combined her love of weddings with her love for the Emmys in this dress that looks like the lovechild of a bridesmaid dress from the 1980s and a formal evening gown. We're slightly confused by that half collar the That '70s Show is wearing too...
Queen of Hearts
January Jones looks ready to rule as the Queen of Hearts in Wonderland with this whimsical number. The cut and shape are a bit awkward and her collarbone area looks a bit naked without a statement necklace of some sort. It also looks like she quickly threw her hair up in a hurry...
Fluttery Gown
Heidi Klum literally flutters down the red carpet in this basic coral gown with ruffled sleeves and a long train. All she needs is a stunning clutch or accent piece and she's got this look down.
Elegant Embellishments
Taylor Schilling stuns in this beaded design that shows off her sculpted shoulders and the silhouette of her body. The almost-nude color paired with that elegant embellished design is simply gorgeous on the Orange Is the New Black star.
Red Halter
It seems like red was one of the main colors of the evening and Julia Louis-Dreyfus decided to join the trend. While we don't have anything against her color choice, we're just not sure why she chose such a basic and boring halter that looks like something she would wear on vacation by the pool. When you're nominated for an Emmy, you should try to show it off in any way you can!
Sheer Blue
Kate Mulgrew kept things simple in this blue gown that features a sheer mesh area at the top. Despite its simplicity, the color looks great against the Orange Is the New Black star's fair skin tone, and we love how her red hair is pulled up and teased at the crown to frame her face.
1980s Bridesmaid
Okay, so we're seriously starting to wonder if 1980s bridalwear is attempting to make its comeback via the red carpet 'cause this is the second dress of the evening that we've caught with our fashion radar. Allison Janney looks like she just finished attending the Vegas nuptials of one of her best girlfriends before hopping into a limo and heading on over to the Emmys. And what's with that oversized bow in the front?
Regal Red
Octavia Spencer outshines the red carpet in a remarkable red gown of her own. The Help star chose a dress made from two contrasting materials that twists at the front for a flirtatious effect. And we're enjoying the unique octagon-shaped clutch bag as her accessory!
All-White
They say you can never have too much of a good thing but we're going to have to disagree with that, especially in ths case of Padma Lakshmi's dress. All we see is white for days and nothing else! Not even a colorful clutch, a statement necklace or a glamorous hairstyle...
Royal Purple
Edie Falco opted for a simpler gown that played around with layers and a wrapped torso area for additional oomph. We only wish that she had chosen to do something a little more exciting with her hair, or opted for a red lip at least.
Historical Wedding
Mayim Bialik looks like she walked off the pages of a Jane Austen historical romance novel and onto the 2014 Emmys red carpet. While the dress itself is a beautiful color and perfectly detailed, it looks a little too formal even for the Emmys. The Big Bang Theory actress looks like she belongs on a throne at Buckhingham Palace...or at an 18th century wedding.
Punk Chic
Whoa, it's easy to forget for a minute that Lena Headey plays the long-haired, uptight Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones when seeing her in this outfit. With her short 'do, this unconventional one-shoulder dress, and that tattoo on her arm, she looks more like the lead singer of a British feminist rock band.
Feminine Floral
Amanda Peet stepped onto the red carpet in a long floral gown that doesn't draw much attention to her baby bump. The Saving Silverman actress's makeup looked flawless and she was glowing from head to toe.
Sheer Openings
The contrast between Debra Messing's red hair and that black dress with sheer openings is just incredible. She keeps the rest of her look simple aside from a few small accessories and her makeup looks flawless.
