Rachel Weisz & Nicole Kidman
Two Oscar winners are better than one. The duo are set to costar in a novel-based film titled The Danish Girl. Set in the 1930s, the film chronicles the first-ever sex-change patient, Einar Wegener (Kidman). Weisz will play Wegener's wife, Gerda.
Ashley Greene
Greene is adding some Boom to her life as she joins the colorful, talented cast in the upcoming flick The Boom Boom Room. The film will also feature Christopher Walken and Shirely MacLaine. The fairy-tale film focuses on Greene's character, who sets out to dig up old family secrets and ends up meeting a pair of old vaudeville stars.
Benjamin Walker
Vampires have messed with the wrong pres. Broadway thesp Walker takes to the big screen in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, where he'll play the famed 16th president. After his mother is killed by the immortal bloodsuckers, Lincoln is driven to fight the forces of the undead, and the film follows his exploits from his 20s and up to the Civil War.
Charlize Theron
The Oscar winner is joining the cast of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, which originally started out as a prequel to the classic sci-fi thriller Alien. She'll be joining leading lady Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, who's set to portray an android.
Bradley Cooper
He's done action (The A-Team), romance (Valentine's Day) and comedy (The Hangover), and now it is time for some drama! Cooper will costar with Jeremy Irons in The Words. The film is about a successful writer who has to learn the consequences of stealing another's work.
Ryan Gosling
The Blue Valentine star is headed for the classics as he is set to star in the remake of the '76 futuristic drama Logan's Run. The film followed a man trying to escape a mandatory death sentence that was fated for all 30-year-olds. Gosling's character, Logan 5, has the job of putting to sleep anyone who tries to escape the mandatory death. The story might be quite chilling, but Gosling's charm is sure to ease anyone into this movie.
Christian Bale
Following Batman and The Fighter, Bale may be putting his body through another intense physical transformation in the film Concrete Island. The story follows a rich architect who begins to degrade physically and mentally while trapped on a man-made island between two motorways of West London.
Rose McGowan
The Planet Terror actress will be taking a lead role in the suspense-filled film Rosewood Lane. She plays a radio talk-show psychiatrist who, after her father dies, discovers that the local paperboy is a sociopath who targeted her father and is now after her. A cat-and-mouse game ensues, and as McGowan's character fights to stay alive, she also questions her views of good and evil.
Amanda Seyfried
The starlet has added yet another movie project to her list, following Red Riding Hood and Now. Seyfried will star in Gone, whose title gives a good hint to the plot. The story will follow a woman on her journey to find her missing sister and face the abductor, a serial killer who kidnapped her sister two years before.
Rooney Mara
Fresh off her breakout role in The Social Network, Mara has been tapped to star in Emmanuel and the Truth about Fishes. Written and directed by Francesca Gregorini, the film follows a young woman who becomes obsessed with a neighbor bearing an uncanny resemblance to her dead mother.
Rosamund Pike
The former Bond girl bested a long list of contenders to snag the role of Andromeda in the Clash of the Titan sequel. Pike joins fellow costars Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton and, if they return for round two, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. She'd better be ready to get to work right away, because the film has already been given a March 2012 release date.
Julia Roberts
The Oscar winner has recently signed on to play the evil queen in Tarsem Singh's 3D flick Brothers Grimm: Snow White. No word yet on any other casting decisions, but filming is expected to move fast, especially since Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman is currently in production as well.
Dakota Fanning
Fanning is taking on a much more girlie role than her recent flicks (New Moon, Eclipse, The Runaways) by playing Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II. In director Michael Hoffman's romantic fairytale Girls' Night Out, the princess is allowed to go out one night to join in the London celebrations for V.E. Day in 1945.
Meryl Streep
The Oscar-winning actress may be taking on one of her most meaningful roles yet, as she is set to play Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. The film will be directed by Mamma Mia! director Phyllida Law. Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter, Moulin Rouge!) will costar as Thatcher's husband, Dennis.
Jeff Bridges
The Oscar nominee (and winner!) has signed on to do The Seventh Son, a film based on the book series The Wardstone Chronicles. Bridges will play an exorcist who trains the main character, Thomas Ward, who is the seventh son of a seventh son in the 1700s (noticing a pattern here?), to fight off evil. An offer is reportedly out to I Am Number Four star Alex Pettyfer for Ward's role.
Sylvester Stallone
The legendary action star will team with director Wayne Kramer for Headshot. The film follows Stallone's character who teams with a younger NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation. The duo will naturally take on all who stand in their way. Hopefully, this movie will be more than the generic cop movie it sounds like.
Freida Pinto
Pinto will star in Michael Winterbottom's Trishna, a modern-day retelling of Tess of the d'Urbervilles set in India. The story will follow the tragic relationship between Jay, the son of a property developer, and Trishna, the daughter of an auto rickshaw owner.
Richard Gere
The veteran star is putting on a business suit for a role in Arbitrage. He'll be costarring with Eva Green and Susan Sarandon in a film about a hedge fund mogul desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire who winds up making an error, forcing him to turn to an unlikely source for help.
Camilla Belle
Fresh off the screen from From Prada to Nada, Belle will star in Freaky Deaky, an adaptation of the Elmore Leonard book. The story centers around a Detroit police sergeant who moves from the bomb squad to sex crimes. Belle's costar could be William H. Macy, who is still believed to be up for the role of the sergeant.
Cameron Diaz
The Green Hornet star is getting her con on with Colin Firth in Gambit, starring as a woman helping the Oscar-nominated actor sell a wealthy art collector into buying a fake Monet.
James Franco & Benicio Del Toro
Two of Hollywood's coolest actors are doing hits for the mob. The two are set to star in Iceman, the true story of a contract killer who also manages to live a seemingly quiet life as a regular family man.
Josh Duhamel
It's the ensemble cast that knows no bounds. Garry Marshal's New Year's Eve has just added Fergie's hubby to its roster of player that already includes Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Halle Berry, Zac Efron and Sarah Jessica Parker.
