Where Are Gilmore Girls' Characters Today?
Are you ready to see Stars Hollow in 2015?
Though it's been off the air for over seven years, we still can't stop thinking about our beloved Gilmore Girls, and the characters, Lorelai, Rory, Luke and more, who became like family to us. Of course, we've always wondered what the gang was up to today....and now we finally know!
We were lucky enough to spend some time with the awesome cast (including all three of Rory's BFs!) at the Gilmore Girls' reunion at the 2015 ATX TV Festival and asked them to predict what they're characters are up to today. Plus, they revealed who they think their character ended up with romantically. Prepare for some major feels!
Lorelai Gilmore
OK, you can all stop worrying because, according to Lauren Graham, Lorelai and Luke got their happily ever after. "I think they're together, 100 percent," she said on the panel. She later added that "they probably did" get married. And we imagine they still argue over her coffee intake every morning. Hey, a TV fan can dream!
Luke Danes
Scott Patterson has clearly thought a lot about where Luke, Lorelai's love interest and Stars Hollow's most lovable and grumpy diner owner, ended up. And fans may not love his version of the future. (He is holding out hope for a reunion movie!)
"He shuts the diner down, but he opens another one," he told us. "So he's on a lake, he's reopened Luke's Diner 40 miles away on a lake. He's got a bait and tackle shop, he sells some camping equipment, he fly-fishes everyday in the summer and spring."
Um, how does Lorelai factor in? "Maybe she shows up for a lesson or two in fly-fishing, maybe rekindle something. In the meantime, when he's not with her, he's communing with nature, praying for her return."
But don't worry, people, "He's still wearing the hat."
Emily Gilmore
Sadly, the eldest Gilmore girl would be a widow, as Edward Herrmann, who played Richard Gilmore, passed away in late 2014.
"I'd have to say, if Richard were still with us, we would be pretty much in the same place we were," Bishop said on the panel. "But now Emily's a widow, so that's a whole other world."
All. The. Tears.
Jess Mariano
Ever the bad boy, Milo Ventimiglia predicted, "I think Jess is out being Jess, walking away when too many people show up."
And he doesn't think Jess and Rory were meant to be, saying he's "Team Dean."
Logan Huntzberger
While Rory helped Logan, her rich college BF, find a little ambition, Matt Czuchry doesn't think his charming alter ego is up to much these days. "Not working, traveling the world," he told E! News. "No work!"
Lane Kim
Lane, Rory's quirky BFF, is at a crossroads, people. "In my imagination, Lane is trying to figure out what kind of mom she wants to be," she said on the panel. "She wants to be Lorelai, but I think in her heart she's Mrs. Kim." But she also thought Lane is "still playing music with Hep Alien."
Zach Van Gerbig
Hep Alien's guitarist and Lane's hubby is in the dog house! "I think Zach is trying to win Lane's heart again because he screwed up and he's going through counseling and trying to make himself a better man and dad," Todd Lowe told us.
Paris Gellar and Doyle McMaster
Both Liza Weil and Danny Strong are confident that Paris and Doyle are still together today. "I like to think she and Doyle are very happily married, I think they were really matched, "Weil said. "I think Paris is probably still just in the world and doing work that interests her. Maybe a little bit of law and a little bit of medicine."
Of Doyle, EIC of the Yale newspaper, Strong predicted he's "married to Paris while working as a reporter at some website...and probably thinking everybody he was working for was an idiot."
Michel Gerard
Lorelai's constantly "over it" French employee is "probably running an inn on its own, calling the shots," Yanic Truesdale told E! News. "Something with a French name, with good croissants!" And on the panel, he added that Michele was definitely still "patronizing people for sure, somewhere!" We expected nothing less!
Miss Patty
Liz Torres predicted Miss Patty went on to great things in Stars Hollow. "She is running for mayor and trying to upset Taylor," Torres told us. "She can't do a good job and runs to him at three in the morning to find out what ex-checker means."
Brian Fuller
"I think Brian has a tech start-up company," John Cabera said of Hep Alien's bassist. "Some sort of musical tech start-up company."
One of the company's employees? Kirk (Sean Gunn)!
