35 Ridiculous & Amazing Ads for Fall TV, From Best to Worst
We already gave you our ranking of the best and worst fall TV shows, so now it's time to rank the ads! From the great and hilarious to the laughably bad and downright disturbing, take a look at the best and worst fall TV advertisements that have been following us around on buses, billboards, and the Internet all summer long...
BEST: Fear the Walking Dead (AMC)
Just something about that zombie walker shuffling over to ruin that beautiful Los Angeles sunset for those basketball players really warms our hearts and pleases our brain-eating souls.
BEST: American Horror Story: Hotel (FX)
This is superbly terrifying and we call dibs on creepy mattress girl as our Halloween costume!
BEST: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (CW)
Simple, colorful, and proof that Rachel Bloom has mastered the art of crazy serious facial expressions.
BEST: Scream Queens (Fox)
Campy, cheeky and slightly cheesy, this poster totally nails the Fox horror-comedy's delicious tone.
BEST: Grandfathered (Fox)
Grandfathered clearly knows that its biggest draw is John Stamos and a baby, with a bit of Josh Peck peppered in, so that's exactly what this poster gives us, without even a frill or a tagline. Solid. Also, the GILF ads are A+.
BEST: Scandal (ABC)
If you're an Olitz fan, this poster is A+ red hot. If you're not, well...maybe your day will come. Either way, the ad gets funnier and funnier the longer you stare at Fitz's half-hidden sexy face.
BEST: Wicked City (ABC)
It's a show about Ed Westwick murdering people, and this poster features Ed Westwick looking like he's going to murder us, right after he seduces us with his eyes. Success!
BEST: Law & Order: SVU
There's nothing actually bad about this except for the look Mariska Hargitay is giving us. We feel like we've disappointed her. We're so sorry Olivia Benson!
MEH: Quantico (ABC)
Cool pic, but we've stared at it so long that we noticed how uneven the two slices of Priyanka Chopra's flawless face are. Now it's bothering us.
MEH: Jane the Virgin
"Look at all these awards we've won, plus LOOK AT THE BABY!" is what this poster is saying, as if this were a show that really needed to sell itself. We already love you, Jane the Virgin. You don't have to try so hard.
MEH: Life in Pieces (CBS)
We feel like the entire cast of Life in Pieces has just caught us in a compromised position with our pants down, just based on the way they're staring at us. We hate it and we love it.
MEH: Modern Family (ABC)
The contrast between this and the Black-ish poster is both great and profound. This is far too pristine to be an accurate representation of the pleasant dysfunction that Modern Family is actually all about.
MEH: The Muppets (ABC)
There is no way Fozzie or Gonzo can operate those phones with their gargantuan fingers.
WORST: The Goldbergs (ABC)
Love the show, but this photoshoot situation makes us feel as uncomfortable as Barry looks. We've also definitely seen this before.
WORST: Castle
Beckett's eyeline is slightly off and it is bothering us! What is over Castle's shoulder that is more interesting than Nathan Fillion?!
WORST: Supergirl (CBS)
This slightly cheesy poster sent us off into a spiral of contemplating how skirts work while flying. Would the air force the skirt to hug the body, or would gravity pull it away towards the ground? Help us, science! We also can't help but dream about what this poster would look like if this show were on the CW, which is a travesty we will never get over.
